Composition

100 ml of drops contain:

Active ingredients:

anise oil 2.81 g;

ammonia solution 10%15 ml (equivalent to the content of 1.5 g of ammonia);

Auxiliary substances:

90% ethyl alcohol (ethanol) — up to 100 ml

Pharmacological action

Ammonia-anise drops are a combined drug that has an expectorant and anti-inflammatory effect.

Anise oil intensively stimulates the secretion of bronchial glands, as well as promotes digestion and has an antiseptic effect.

Ammonia helps to dilute sputum.

Indications

used in the complex treatment of various diseases of the respiratory system when:

• Acute and chronic bronchitis;
• Tracheitis;
• Pharyngitis;
• Bronchopneumonia and bronchiectatic diseases.

Contraindications

The drug is contraindicated in case of individual intolerance to the components that make up the drops.

Also, the drug is not used during pregnancy and lactation.

Side effects

Possible allergic reactions, nausea, vomiting.

Taking an undiluted drug can cause burns to the mucous membranes.

Interaction

The drug should not be used simultaneously with antitussive drugs, because this makes it difficult to cough up liquefied sputum.

How to take, course of use and dosage

Inside,2-3 times a day in diluted (in 1/4–1/2 cup of water) form: adults-10-15 drops per reception, children-1 drop per year of life.

When taking the drug, it is recommended to prescribe a plentiful warm drink.

The drug is used only in diluted form!

The drug contains 90% ethyl alcohol. The absolute alcohol content in the maximum single dose of the drug is 0.18 g, in the maximum daily dose of the drug — 0.54 g.

During the treatment period, care should be taken when driving vehicles and engaging in other potentially dangerous activities that require increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions.
