Aqua Maris, nasal spray, 30ml

Composition

100 ml of the solution contains 30 ml of Adriatic Sea water with natural trace elements and 70 ml of purified water.

It does not contain preservatives.

Presence of ions:

Na + – at least of 2.50 mg/ml;

Ca2+ – not less than 0,08 mg/ml;

Mg2+ is not less than 0.35 mg/ml;

Cl – – at least to 5.50 mg/ml;

SO 4 2 – not less than 0.60 mg/ml;

HCO 3 – not less than 0.03 mg/ml.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Sterilized isotonic seawater helps maintain the normal physiological state of the nasal mucosa.

The drug helps to dilute mucus and normalize its production in the goblet cells of the nasal mucosa.

The microelements included in the preparation improve the function of the ciliated epithelium, have an anti-inflammatory, cleansing, stimulating, restorative effect on the nasal mucosa.

In allergic and vasomotor rhinitis, the drug helps to wash off and remove allergens and haptens from the nasal mucosa, reducing the local inflammatory process.

Aqua Maris ®, used for hygienic purposes, helps to clean the mucous membrane from street and room dust that has settled on it.

Indications

• acute and chronic inflammatory diseases of the nasal cavity, paranasal sinuses and nasopharynx;
• adenoids;
• postoperative (after surgery on the nose);
• allergic and vasomotor rhinitis (especially in persons predisposed to or suffering from hypersensitivity to drugs, including pregnant women and during lactation);
• prevention and treatment in the complex therapy of infections of the nasal cavity in the autumn-winter period (including in pregnant women and during lactation); dryness of the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity;
• the preservation of the physiological characteristics of the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity in an altered microclimatic conditions in individuals living and working in air-conditioned spaces and/or Central heating;
• in humans, the mucous membrane of the upper respiratory tract which is constantly exposed to harmful influences (smokers drivers, people working in hot and dusty shops and also located in regions with harsh climatic conditions).

Use during pregnancy and lactation

Pregnancy and breast-feeding are not contraindications for use.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. Children under 1 year of age (for dosed nasal spray).

Side effects

Possible allergic reactions.

Interaction

Since the drug does not have a systemic effect on the body, interactions with other drugs were not noted.

It can be used with other medications used to treat the common cold.

How to take, course of use and dosage

Treatment:

Aqua Maris ® nasal spray dosage: children from 1 year to 7 years: 4 times a day for two injections in each nasal passage; children from 7 to 16 years: 4-6 times a day for two injections in each nasal passage; adults: 4-8 times a day for 2-3 injections in each nasal passage. The course of treatment in all cases is 2-4 weeks (at the discretion of the attending physician). It is recommended to repeat the course in a month.

Prevention:

Aqua Maris ® nasal spray dosed: children from 1 year to 7 years: 1-3 times a day for one or two injections in each nasal passage; children from 7 to 16 years: 2-4 times a day for two injections in each nasal passage; adults: 3-6 times a day for two or three injections in each nasal passage.

To soften and remove polluting accumulations and nasal secretions: Aqua Maris ® is injected or instilled into each nasal passage as much as the situation requires, eliminating the resulting excess fluid with cotton wool or a handkerchief. The procedure can be repeated many times until the accumulations of polluting particles are successfully softened and removed.

Overdose

No cases of overdose have been reported.

Special instructions

Newborns, in order to avoid the risk of infection of the middle ear, instill the solution into the nasal cavity with caution, with minimal pressure on the bottle.
