Composition
1 ampoule contains chondroitin sulfate 100 mg
Pharmacological action
Pharmaceutical group:
A drug that regulates the metabolism of cartilage tissue.
Pharmaceutical action:
Chondroitin sulfate is the main component of proteoglycans, which together with collagen fibers make up the cartilage matrix. It has chondroprotective properties; suppresses the activity of enzymes that cause degradation of articular cartilage; stimulates the production of proteoglycans by chondrocytes; enhances metabolic processes in cartilage and subchondral bone; affects phosphorus-calcium metabolism in cartilage tissue, stimulates its regeneration, participates in the construction of the main substance of bone and cartilage tissue.
It has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties, reduces the release of inflammatory mediators and pain factors into the synovial fluid through synoviocytes and macrophages of the synovial membrane, suppresses the secretion of leukotriene B4 and prostaglandin E2.
The drug ARTHRADOL helps restore the cartilage surfaces of joints, prevents the collapse of connective tissue; normalizes the production of joint fluid, which leads to improved joint mobility, reducing the intensity of pain. Having a structural similarity to heparin, it can potentially prevent the formation of fibrin clots in the synovial and subchondral microcirculation.
Pharmacokinetics: Â
Absorption and distribution
Chondroitin sulfate is easily absorbed by intramuscular use, after 30 minutes it is detected in significant concentrations in the blood, after 15 minutes – in the synovial fluid. Cmax is reached 1 h after use, then the drug concentration slowly decreases over 2 days. The drug accumulates mainly in the cartilage tissue (Cmax in articular cartilage is reached after 48 hours).
Deduction
It is excreted by the kidneys within 24 hours.
