Pharmacological action
Analgin-quinine-a combined drug, refers to analgesic non-narcotic drugs.
Quinine is an alkaloid of the bark of the cinchona tree, has an antipyretic effect, reduces the excitability of the heart muscle, increases the contractility of the myometrium, causes a contraction of the spleen capsule, and has a slight depressing effect on the central nervous system.
Metamizole sodium is a pyrazolone derivative and has analgesic, antipyretic and minor anti-inflammatory effects, the mechanism of which is associated with inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis.
Indications
Pain syndrome of various etiologies, including:
- headache,
- neuralgia,
- arthralgia,
- myalgia,
- myositis,
- algodismenorrhea,
- postoperative pain,
- renal and biliary colic (in combination with antispasmodics).
Febrile conditions in infectious and inflammatory diseases.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
It is contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug Analgin-quinine.
Side effects
- skin rash and itching
- abdominal pain and heaviness.
Interaction
Quinine can potentiate the action of agents that block neuromuscular transmission.
Tricyclic antidepressants, oral contraceptives, and allopurinol disrupt the metabolism of metamizole sodium in the liver and increase its toxicity.
Chloramphenicol enhances the myelotoxic effect of metamizole sodium.
Concomitant use of the drug Analgin-Quinine with other analgesics-antipyretics may lead to increased toxic effects.
When quinine is co-administered with aminoglycoside antibiotics, mutual enhancement of the ototoxic effect may occur.
Barbiturates, phenylbutazone, and other inducers of microsomal liver enzymes weaken the effect of metamizole sodium.
Sedatives and tranquilizers enhance the analgesic effect of metamizole sodium.
Concomitant use of metamizole sodium with cyclosporine reduces the level of the latter in the blood.
How to take, course of use and dosage
Inside 1-2 tablets 1-3 times a day.
Take the drug Analgin-quinine immediately after a meal.
Overdose
Symptoms: nausea, vomiting (including bloody), melena, epigastric pain, agranulocytosis, aplastic anemia, hemorrhagic diathesis, dizziness, tinnitus, clonic and tonic convulsions, cardiotoxic effect, skin rash (bullous, petechial, cortical or typhoid – like), possible anaphylactic shock, coma.
Treatment: gastric lavage, use of laxatives and gastroprotective drugs, forced diuresis, restoration of respiration, anti-shock measures, restoration of BCC; if necessary – symptomatic therapy, with the development of seizures – IV barbiturates and diazepam. There is no specific antidote.
Special instructions
Analgin-quinine should be used with caution in patients with impaired liver and kidney function, visual and hearing impairments, angina pectoris, and heart failure. With prolonged (more than a week) use of the drug, it is necessary to monitor the picture of peripheral blood and the functional state of the liver. It is advisable to monitor the ECG.
Influence on the ability to drive motor vehicles and control mechanisms During the period of taking the drug, you should not perform work that requires increased attention and speed of psychomotor reactions.
