Pharmacological action

Piroxicam has an anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect.
Inhibits the production of inflammatory mediators by inhibiting cycloxygenases 1 and 2.
Relieves pain, including joint pain at rest and during movement; reduces morning stiffness and swelling of the joints, helps to increase the volume of movement.
Indications
- Diseases of the musculoskeletal system: rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis of the peripheral joints and spine: rheumatic soft tissue lesions
- Muscle pain of rheumatic and non-rheumatic origin
- Post-traumatic inflammation of soft tissues without violating the integrity of the skin
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to piroxicam, acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs, “aspirin” asthma, pregnancy, lactation, children (up to 12 years), violation of the integrity of the skin.
With caution: hepatic porphyria (exacerbation), erosive and ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract, severe liver and kidney function disorders, chronic heart failure, bronchial asthma, the elderly, children.
Side effects
Local reactions: eczema, contact dermatitis (itching, redness, swelling of the treated skin area, papules, vesicles, peeling).
Systemic reactions: generalized skin rash, allergic reactions (urticaria, angioedema, bronchospastic reactions).
Interaction
No clinically significant interactions with other medicinal products have been described.
How to take, course of use and dosage
The gel is applied to the skin, depending on the size of the lesion, squeezing out a strip 3 cm long on the skin area in the pain zone.
Spread a thin layer and gently rub into the inflamed and painful area of the body.
The gel is applied 3-4 times a day.
Overdose
Extremely low systemic absorption of the active components of the drug with external use makes overdose almost impossible.
Special instructions
The gel should only be applied to undamaged skin, avoiding contact with open wounds.
After application, do not apply an occlusive dressing.
Do not allow the drug to get on the eyes and mucous membranes.
Form of production
Transparent gel from light yellow to greenish-yellow color with the smell of ethyl alcohol.
Opalescence is allowed.
