In a clinical study in which Claritine was administered for 90 days at a dose 4 times higher than the therapeutic dose, no clinically significant prolongation of the QT interval was detected on the ECG.
When conducting skin tests for histamine after taking one (10 mg) or several doses of Claritine, the antihistamine effect was manifested in 1-3 hours, reached a maximum in the period from 8 to 12 hours from the onset of action, and lasted more than 24 hours.
