Composition

Antiviral and immunomodulatory drug. Inducer of interferon synthesis.

Pharmaceutical action:

An immunomodulator. Cycloferon® is a low-molecular-weight inducer of interferon, which determines a wide range of its biological activity (antiviral, immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory).

Cycloferon® is effective against herpes viruses, influenza and other pathogens of acute respiratory diseases.

It has a direct antiviral effect, suppressing the reproduction of the virus in the early stages (1-5 days) of the infectious process, reducing the virulence of viral offspring, leading to the formation of defective viral particles. Increases the body’s non-specific resistance to viral and bacterial infections.

Pharmacokinetics:

Suction

After taking the drug orally in a daily dose, Cmax in blood plasma is reached in 2-3 hours, the concentration gradually decreases by 8 hours, after 24 hours the Active ingredient is detected in trace amounts.

Elimination

of T 1/2 is 4-5 hours. The use of the drug Cycloferon® in the recommended doses does not create conditions for its accumulation in the body.

Indications

In adults in complex therapy: influenza and acute respiratory diseases; herpetic infection.

In children starting from four years of age in complex therapy: influenza and acute respiratory diseases; herpetic infection.

In children starting from four years of age for the prevention of influenza and acute respiratory diseases.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

Contraindicated.

Contraindications

• Individual intolerance to the components of the drug,
• pregnancy,
• lactation,
• children under 4 years of age (due to an imperfect act of swallowing),
• decompensated cirrhosis of the liver.

With caution

In case of acute digestive diseases (erosions, ulcers of the stomach and / or duodenum, gastritis and duodenitis) and a history of allergic reactions, be sure to consult your doctor before taking the drug.

Side effects

Nervous system and sensory disorders:  drowsiness, fatigue, headache.

From the digestive tract:  dry mouth, dyspeptic symptoms, epigastric pain, cholestatic jaundice.

From the side of the skin:  increased sweating, symptoms of lupus erythematosus or lichen planus.

Other services:  allergic skin reactions, weight gain; very rarely – tremor of the extremities, increased muscle tone.

Interaction

Chemical incompatibility is not known.

When used concomitantly with tricyclic antidepressants, sleeping pills, drugs that have a sedative effect, ethanol, ethanol-containing drugs, the effect on the central nervous system increases.

When used concomitantly with antihypertensive agents, the hypotensive effect increases; with nootropic agents, vasodilators, the effect of nootropic and vasodilating agents increases.

Simultaneous use of phenylpropanolamine reduces the sedative effect of cinnarizine.

How to take, course of use and dosage

Inside, preferably after a meal. Cerebral circulatory disorders: 25-50 mg 3 times a day, peripheral circulatory disorders: 50-75 mg 3 times a day, balance disorders: 25 mg 3 times a day, prevention of kinetosis: adults-25 mg 30 minutes before the trip, if necessary, again 6 hours later to the maximum recommended dose of 225 mg. Children are prescribed half the adult dose. With high sensitivity to cinnarizine, treatment begins with 1/2 dose, increasing it gradually.

Overdose

Symptoms:  vomiting, drowsiness, tremor, excessive lowering of blood pressure, coma.

Treatment:  gastric lavage, taking activated charcoal, symptomatic therapy. There is no specific antidote.

Special instructions

If you have thyroid diseases, you should consult an endocrinologist. If the next dose of the drug is missed, then you should continue the course as soon as possible, without taking into account the time interval and doubling the dosage.

If there is no therapeutic effect, you should consult a doctor.
