Pharmacological action
Pharmaceutical group:
anti-allergic agent-H1-histamine receptor blocker.
Pharmaceutical action:
Diazoline® belongs to antihistamines, is a blocker of H1-histamine receptors. Diazoline ® reduces the spasmogenic effect of histamine on the smooth muscles of the bronchi, intestines, as well as its effect on vascular permeability.
Since it penetrates the blood-brain barrier (BBB) in small amounts, it does not have a pronounced sedative and hypnotic effect.
Indications
- Allergic rhinitis (seasonal, chronic), pollinosis, allergic conjunctivitis, urticaria, angioedema, itchy dermatosis (eczema, neurodermatitis, etc. ), skin reaction to insect bites;
- allergic reactions to medication, food, etc. ;
- combination therapy of itchy dermatoses and bronchial asthma.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
Contraindicated use during pregnancy and lactation.
Contraindications
Prostatic hypertrophy, angle-closure glaucoma, gastric and duodenal ulcer, inflammatory diseases of the gastrointestinal tract in the acute phase; hypersensitivity to mebhydroline, pylorostenosis, epilepsy, cardiac arrhythmias (having a vagolytic effect, it can improve AV conduction and contribute to the development of supraventricular arrhythmias), pregnancy, lactation.
Side effects
Nervous system and sensory disorders: Â increased fatigue, slow reaction rate, dizziness, drowsiness, paresthesia.
From the digestive tract: Â dry mouth, heartburn, nausea, epigastric pain.
Other services: Â urination disorders, allergic reactions, granulocytopenia, agranulocytosis.
Interaction
Enhances the effect of ethanol, sedative drugs.
How to take, course of use and dosage
Diazoline is prescribed orally after a meal.
Adults and children over 10 years of age: 50-300 mg per day. The maximum single dose is 300 mg, the daily dose is 600 mg.
Children 5-10 years old: Â 100-200 mg per day.
Children 2-5 years: 50-150 mg per day.
Overdose
No cases of overdose were detected.
Special instructions
Caution is required when using against the background of liver and kidney diseases (dose adjustment and intervals between doses are possible).
Use with caution in patients who are engaged in potentially dangerous activities that require increased attention and speed of psychomotor reactions.
