Pharmacological action

Enterosgel is an enterosorbent, enveloping, antidiarrheal, detoxification drug based on organic silicon, designed to remove toxic substances from the body and gastrointestinal tract.

Enterosgel has the structure of a silicon-organic matrix (molecular sponge), hydrophobic nature, which is characterized by an adsorbing effect with respect only to medium-molecular toxic metabolites (molecular weight from 70 to 1000).

Enterosgel selectively adsorbs medium-molecular endogenous and exogenous toxic substances of various nature from the contents of the intestine and blood (trans-membrane from the capillaries of the villi of the intestinal mucosa): bacterial toxins, products of incomplete metabolism, allergens, antigens, viruses, drugs and poisons, incorporated radionuclides. It adsorbs some metabolic products, including excess bilirubin, urea, creatinine, cholesterol and lipid complexes, and metabolites responsible for the development of endogenous toxicosis. It does not adsorb trace elements.

Enterosgel stops the manifestations of toxicosis, dysbiosis, improves the function of the intestines, liver and kidneys, helps to normalize the functions of the hematopoietic and immune systems.

It does not affect the saprophytic microflora, promotes parietal digestion and activates intestinal motility. As a result of selective adhesion, Enterosgel destroys pathogenic microorganisms and removes their particles containing endo-and exotoxins.

Enterosgel has an anti-inflammatory and regenerating effect on the mucous membrane of the stomach and intestines, prevents the occurrence of erosive damage.

Enterosgel is non-toxic and harmless, has an organic surface nature and is fully compatible with the body’s tissues and substrates, is chemically inert under the body’s conditions, and does not cause intestinal atony. It is used in children from the 1st month of life.

Enterosgel paste is more convenient to use, because it does not require preliminary preparation. The fine form of enterosgel paste significantly increases the sorption activity, and hence the efficiency compared to the gel.

Indications

In adults and children as a detoxifying agent:

– acute and chronic intoxications of various origins;

– acute poisoning with strong and toxic substances, including drugs and alcohol, alkaloids, heavy metal salts:

– acute intestinal infections of any genesis as part of complex therapy (toxicoinfections. salmonellosis, dysentery, varaiya syndrome of noninfectious origin, dysbiosis);

– purulent-septic diseases accompanied by severe intoxication, as part of complex therapy;

Contraindications

• Morphophysiological disorders in the gastrointestinal tract (acute gastric dilation syndrome, dynamic intestinal obstruction, intestinal atony, etc. )

• peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum in the acute phase

• bleeding from the gastrointestinal tract

• individual intolerance to Enterosgel (hypersensitivity).

Side effects

In severe renal or hepatic insufficiency-aversion to the drug after two or three times use. Increased nausea, flatulence (requires discontinuation of the drug).

Interaction

It can be used in complex therapy with other drugs if the interval between doses is observed, including bacterial preparations (bifidobacteria, lactobacilli, bifidobacteria and lactobacilli), phytopreparations, adaptogens, immunomodulators, etc.

How to take, course of use and dosage

Enterosgel in the form of a hydrogel is taken orally in the form of an aqueous suspension. To obtain a suspension, the required amount of Enterosgel is thoroughly ground in 1/4 cup of water and taken with water. It is recommended to prepare a fresh suspension before each intake of Enterosgel.

Enterosgel paste can be used without preparing a suspension inside directly and washed down with water.

Enterosgel is taken orally 3 times a day between meals and medications (1.5-2 hours before or 2 hours after meals).

Single dose of Enterosgel:

for adults and adolescents (from 14 years) – 1 tablespoon (15 g)

for children from 7 to 14 years-1 dessert spoon (10 g)

from 2 to 7 years – 1 teaspoon (5 g)

from 1 to 2 years-2 teaspoons divided into 3-4 doses

up to 1 year-1 teaspoon divided into 3-4 doses.

The daily dose of Enterosgel for adults is 45 g, for children under 7 years – 15-20 g.

The duration of treatment with Enterosgel for acute poisoning is not less than 10 days for chronic intoxications and allergic conditions-2-3 weeks. A second course is possible on the recommendation of a doctor.

In severe forms of the disease, a double dose of Enterosgel is used during the first 3 days, in some cases (mechanical jaundice, cirrhosis of the liver), a long-term (more than six months) use of the drug is possible.

For gargling with acute respiratory viral infections,1 tablespoon (15 g) Enterosgel is ground in 1/2-1 cup of water.

Special instructions
