ATX CODE: C 05 VA 03
Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics Heparin sodium is a direct-acting anticoagulant. Prevents thrombosis, inhibits the activity of hyaluronidase, activates the fibrinolytic properties of blood.
When applied externally, it has a local antithrombotic, anti-edematous and anti-inflammatory effect, improves blood microcirculation and activates tissue metabolism, which accelerates the resorption of hematomas and blood clots, reduces tissue swelling.
PharmacokineticsA small amount of heparin is absorbed from the skin surface into the systemic circulation. The maximum concentration of the drug in the blood is noted 8 hours after application. Elimination of heparin mainly occurs through the kidneys, with a half-life of 12 hours. It does not penetrate the placental barrier.
Indications
- for superficial venous diseases: varicose veins, chronic venous insufficiency and related complications (superficial thrombophlebitis, superficial periflebitis);
- blunt injuries and soft tissue bruises;
- subcutaneous hematomas, including hematomas after venous surgery, phlebectomy;
- localized infiltrates and soft tissue edema.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
The use of Lioton 1000 is possible during pregnancy and lactation if the intended benefit to the mother exceeds the potential risk to the fetus and child. Heparin does not pass through the placental barrier and into breast milk. Due to the slight absorption of heparin when applied externally, the drug does not have a systemic effect on the body. However, before using Lioton® 1000 during pregnancy and lactation, it is necessary to consult a doctor.
