Pharmacological action
Decoction of Sabelnik (Comarum palustre) rhizomes has an astringent, anti-inflammatory effect.
Indications
Decoction of Sabelnik (Comarum palustre) rhizomes is used internally for diseases of the gastrointestinal tract (diarrhea, enteritis, colitis); externally-in the form of rinses for inflammatory processes of the oral cavity (stomatitis, gingivitis, sore throat).
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. When taken orally-children under 12 years of age.
Side effects
Possible allergic reactions. Prolonged use of large doses can cause loss of appetite, digestive disorders.
How to take, course of use and dosage
About 15 g (1 tablespoon) of crushed rhizomes are placed in an enamel bowl, pour 200 ml (1 cup) of cooled boiled water, cover with a lid and insist on a boiling water bath for 30 minutes, then filter without cooling, the remaining raw materials are squeezed out. The volume of the resulting broth is brought with boiled water to 200 ml. Take inside 1 tablespoon 3 times a day. Topically, the decoction is used for rinsing the oral cavity. It is recommended to shake the broth before use.
Description
Pieces of rhizomes of indeterminate shape are yellow, yellowish-brown, pinkish-brown, reddish – brown, light or dark brown in color. The smell is faint, fragrant. The taste of water extraction is astringent.
Storage conditions
In a dry place, protected from light, cooked broth – in a cool place for no more than 2 days. Keep out of reach of children.
