Composition

Active ingredient:  

Adriatic Sea water – 25 g.

Auxiliary substances:

dexpanthenol 75 L (at least 75% dexpanthenol)* — 1.33 g;

purified water – 73.67 g.

* Dexpanthenol 75L-an aqueous solution containing at least 75% (R) – panthenol stabilized with approximately 1% D-pantolactone.

It does not contain preservatives.

Presence of ions:

Na+ – min. 1.90 mg / ml; Ca2+ – min. 0.06 mg / ml; Mg2+ – min. 0.25 mg / ml; Cl – – min. 4.10 mg / ml; SO4 2– – min. 0.45 mg / ml; HCO3 – – min. 0.025 mg/ml.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Aqua Maris ® Plus is a sterile isotonic solution containing seawater and dexpanthenol. Dexpanthenol is a derivative of pantothenic acid. Pantothenic acid — a water-soluble vitamin of the B complex, is a component of coenzyme A.

Dexpanthenol stimulates the regeneration of the mucous membrane, normalizes cellular metabolism, has a regenerating and weak anti-inflammatory effect.

When injected into the nasal cavity, Aqua Maris ® Plus moisturizes the mucous membrane, stimulates regeneration and has a trophic effect on the cells of the nasal mucosa.

The drug helps to dilute mucus and normalize its production in the goblet cells of the nasal mucosa.

The microelements included in the preparation improve the function of the ciliated epithelium, which increases the resistance of the nasal mucosa and paranasal sinuses to the introduction of pathogenic bacteria and viruses.

Indications

Aqua Maris ® Plus is shown:

• for the treatment and prevention of atrophic rhinitis and subatrophic;
• for cleansing and moisturizing the nasal mucosa in inflammatory diseases of the nasal cavity, paranasal sinuses and nasopharynx, including pregnant women and during lactation;
• in the complex therapy of allergic and vasomotor rhinitis (especially in persons predisposed to or suffering from hypersensitivity to drugs, including pregnant women and during lactation);
• to prevent infections of the nasal cavity in the autumn-winter period (including pregnant women and during lactation);
• patients suffering from dryness of the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity and the people living and working in air-conditioned spaces and/or Central heating, with the aim of preserving the physiological characteristics of the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity in an altered microclimatic conditions;
• the people, the mucous membrane of the upper respiratory tract which is constantly exposed to harmful influences (smokers drivers, people working in hot and dusty shops and also located in regions with harsh climatic conditions);
• the elderly for the prevention of age-related atrophic changes in the nasal mucosa.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

Pregnancy and breast-feeding are not contraindications for use.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Side effects

Possible allergic reactions.

Interaction

Since the drug does not have a systemic effect on the body, interactions with other drugs were not noted.

It can be used with other medications used to treat the common cold.

How to take, course of use and dosage

For therapeutic purposes: children from 1 year to 7 years: 4 times a day for two sprays in each nasal passage; children from 7 to 16 years: 4-6 times a day for two injections in each nasal passage; children from 16 years and adults: 4-8 times a day for two or three sprays in each nasal passage.

The course of treatment in all cases is 2-4 weeks (at the discretion of the attending physician).

It is recommended to repeat the course in a month.

For preventive purposes: children from 1 year to 7 years: 1-3 times a day for one or two sprays in each nasal passage; children from 7 to 16 years: 2-4 times a day for two injections in each nasal passage; children from 16 years and adults: 3-6 times a day for two or three sprays in each nasal passage.

Overdose

No cases of overdose have been reported.

Special instructions

It is not recommended to use outdoors in the cold season, it is not recommended to leave a warm room on the street immediately after using the drug in the cold season.

ABILITY TO INFLUENCE THE REACTION RATE WHEN DRIVING VEHICLES OR WORKING WITH OTHER MECHANISMS

The drug does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and mechanisms.
