Pharmacological action

Chamomile flowers – a means of herbal medicine.

The complex of biologically active substances of chamomile flowers (essential oil, azulene, flavonoids, polysaccharides, vitamins, etc. ) has antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, sedative, diaphoretic, analgesic, anti-ulcer effect.

The mechanism of antispasmodic action is explained by the m-cholinolytic properties of plant glycosides.

Increases bile production, secretion of digestive glands, reduces fermentation in the intestines.

Indications

For topical application:  inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity and pharynx (pharyngitis, tonsillitis, sore throat); infectious and inflammatory diseases of the genitourinary system; skin inflammation, wounds, ulcers.

For oral use:  spastic conditions of the gastrointestinal tract, flatulence, gastritis, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum, colitis, enterocolitis, liver and biliary tract diseases, painful menstruation, uterine bleeding, neuroses.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity.

How to take, course of use and dosage

Apply inside, externally, topically. The dosage regimen depends on the indications for use.

2 filter bags (3 g) are placed in a glass or enamel dish, pour 100 ml (1/2 cup) of boiling water, cover and insist for 15 minutes, periodically pressing on the bags with a spoon, then squeeze them out. The volume of the resulting infusion is brought with boiled water to 100 ml.

Take inside in a warm form of 2-3 tablespoons 2-3 times a day before meals.

For microclysters, use 50 ml of warm infusion 1-2 times a day.

Externally used for rinses, lotions and baths.
