Composition

1 ml of syrup for children contains:

active ingredients:

ascorbic acid 12 mg,

bendazol 1.25 mg,

thymogen sodium 150 mcg;

excipients:

sucrose,

purified water.

Pharmacological action

Pharmacodynamics

The drug Cytovir-3 is a means of immunostimulating, antiviral therapy, since it has an interferogenic effect. Bendazol, which is part of the drug, induces the production of endogenous interferon in the body. Interferon-induced enzymes in cells of various organs inhibit viral replication.

In addition, by activating immunocompetent cells, the drug contributes to the normalization of the immune status. Thymogen sodium acts on the T-cell link of immunity. Ascorbic acid activates the humoral link of immunity, normalizes capillary permeability, thereby suppressing the inflammatory process.

Pharmacokinetics

When taken orally, the drug is completely absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. The bioavailability of bendazole is about 80%, thymogen sodium-no more than 15% and ascorbic acid-90%.

Metabolites of ascorbic acid and bendazole are excreted in the urine. Thymogen sodium under the influence of peptidases is broken down into L-glutamic acid and L-tryptophan, which are used by the body in peptide synthesis. The half-life of the components does not exceed 3 hours.

Indications

Prevention and complex therapy of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections.

Contraindications

Increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug, diabetes mellitus.

Side effects

Short-term reduction of blood pressure in patients suffering from vegetative-vascular dystonia.

Interaction

In recommended doses, Cytovir-3 is compatible with all medications used for the symptomatic treatment of influenza and other acute respiratory viral diseases.

How to take, course of use and dosage

Inside 30 minutes before meals.

A single dose for children from 1 to 3 years – 2 ml of syrup 3 times a day for 4 days; for children aged 3 to 6 years-4 ml 3 times a day for 4 days, for children from 6 to 10 years-8 ml 3 times a day for 4 days, for children from 10 years-12 ml 3 times a day for 4 days.

For the purpose of prevention, a second course can be carried out in 3-4 weeks.

Special instructions

With prolonged use, periodic monitoring of kidney function and blood glucose levels is necessary.
