Composition

Active ingredient:  

hydrolytic lignin (in terms of 100% substance) – 400.0 mg,

Auxiliary substances:

17 povidone (polyvinylpyrrolidone) – 54,66 mg,

talc – 13,00 mg,

calcium stearate – is a 9.75 mg,

silicon dioxide colloid – of 6.50 mg,

croscarmellose sodium – of 6.50 mg,

microcrystalline cellulose to obtain a pill mass 600,0 mg

Pharmacological action

Filtrum®-STI – natural enterosorbent, consisting of the products of hydrolysis of the components of wood – polymer lignin, the structural elements are the derivatives of phenylpropane and hydrocellulose.

It has a high sorbing activity and a non-specific detoxification effect.

Binds and removes pathogenic bacteria and bacterial toxins, medicines, poisons, heavy metal salts, alcohol, allergens, as well as an excess of certain metabolic products, including bilirubin, cholesterol, urea, and metabolites responsible for the development of endogenous toxicosis.

Non-toxic, non-absorbed, completely eliminated from the intestine within 24 hours.

Indications

Filtrum® – STI is used as a detoxification agent in adults and children with exogenous and endogenous intoxications of various origins:

• acute poisoning with drugs, alkaloids, heavy metal salts, alcohol and other poisons;
• complex treatment of food toxicoinfections, salmonellosis, dysentery, dyspepsia;
• purulent-inflammatory diseases accompanied by severe intoxication;
• hyperbilirubinemia and hyperazotemia (liver and kidney failure);
• food and drug allergies;
• prevention of chronic intoxication in employees of harmful industries.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

There are no data on the safety of using Filtrum-STI during pregnancy and lactation.

Contraindications

Individual intolerance to the drug. It is not advisable to use the drug in case of exacerbation of gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer, intestinal atony.

Side effects

Rarely-allergic reactions, constipation.

Long-term use may lead to impaired absorption of vitamins and calcium, and therefore, preventive intake of multivitamins and calcium preparations is recommended.

Interaction

It is possible to reduce the therapeutic effect of some simultaneously applied medications.

The drug can be used in combination therapy with other drugs, subject to the rule of separate use.

How to take, course of use and dosage

Inside, preferably after preliminary grinding, washed down with water an hour before meals and taking other medications.

The dose of the drug depends on the age, body weight and severity of the disease, the drug is taken 3-4 times a day, the average single dose is for children: up to 1 year – ½ tablets; 1-3 years – ½ – 1 tablet; 4-7 years-1 tablet,7-12 years-1-2 tablets; for adults-2-3 tablets.

The duration of treatment for acute conditions is 3-5 days, for allergic diseases and chronic intoxications up to 14-21 days. Repeated courses of treatment after 2 weeks on the doctor’s recommendation.

Overdose

Data on overdose of the drug are not known.
