Composition

The composition of the drug includes the following components: :

• sodium hyaluronate 0.3%,
• sorbitol,
• disodium hydrophosphate dihydrate,
• sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate,
• water for injection.

Pharmacological action

The solution is intended for use in ophthalmology for eye care by instillation in the conjunctival sac.

Gylan Ultra Comfort moisturizing ophthalmic solution reproduces the action of a natural tear, protects and moisturizes the eye surface and lubricates it. This remedy has a long-term relieving effect for dry eyes caused by various factors:

• disorders of the tear film, leading to decreased secretion of tears and causes symptoms of discomfort;
• the impact of the environment (Central heating, air conditioning system, fluorescent lights, chlorinated water, air conditioning, various natural phenomena such as wind, cold, dust, smoke, smog);
• frequent prolonged work at the computer monitor;
• the use of vasoconstrictive or anti-inflammatory ophthalmic drugs;
• hormonal changes (menopause);
• old age (75% of the population over 65 years of age suffers from the syndrome of “dry” eyes).

Gylan Ultra Comfort medical device is a sterile 0.3% aqueous solution of sodium hyaluronate that does not contain preservatives.

Active ingredient-highly purified sodium hyaluronate, produced by bacterial fermentation. Sodium hyaluronate is a physiological polysaccharide compound found in both eye tissues and other human body tissues and fluids.

A special physicochemical property of sodium hyaluronate molecules is their pronounced ability to bind water molecules. An aqueous solution of sodium hyaluronate (GILAN) has the necessary viscosity and high adhesive properties.

When using Gylan Ultra Comfort ophthalmic solution, a thin, uniform film is formed on the epithelium of the cornea of the eye, protecting the eyes from drying out, irritation and the development of inflammation of the anterior surface of the eyeball. The effect of the protective film begins almost immediately, thereby protecting the eyes for a long time from the feeling of dryness, aching, foreign body sensations, and irritation that often occur when working at a computer, during prolonged use of air conditioners or other office equipment, or in cases of environmental degradation.

When regularly wearing contact lenses, the use of Gylan Ultra Comfort ophthalmic solution is recommended, which contributes to long-term hydration of the eye, since its action is identical to natural tear fluid. Gylan Ultra Comfort ophthalmic solution does not contain preservatives, so there is no undesirable toxic effect on the eye tissue. The solution has a viscosity index of 9.0-18.0 MPa * s.

Indications

• for moisturizing the front surface of the eye (cornea and conjunctiva) in the syndrome of “dry” eye moderate;
• to eliminate dryness of eyes, “sand” in the eyes when burning, the tearing, redness, itching, fatigue, office syndrome, as well as when foreign body sensation in the eye, feelings of fatigue, after various diseases of the eye, especially after conjunctivitis and keratitis of various etiologies,
• in the complex treatment of chronic blepharitis, causing the syndrome of “dry” eyes;
• to eliminate “dry” eyes in cases of systematic and prolonged use of drugs (hormonal, anti-inflammatory drugs, antibiotics, etc. );
• for a comprehensive treatment of “dry” eye in cases of continuous use of cosmetics, and after a plastic surgery on your face;
• to moisten the front surface of the eye after ophthalmic surgery, including after refractive interventions (LASIK, PRK, etc. ), as well as minor damage of the cornea in the complex therapy;
• to eliminate the discomfort when wearing hard and soft contact lenses as well as for prevention of the syndrome of dry eye in contact correction of vision;
• for the prevention and comprehensive treatment of corneal-conjunctival xerosis: when environmental degradation and environmental pollution (smog, smoke, dust, etc. ), and a lengthy visual loads;
• when Sjogren’s syndrome.

Recommendations for use

Procedure for working with a tube dropper (unidose):

The dose contained in the dropper tube is sufficient for one instillation in both eyes. After a single use, the dropper tube should be discarded, even if the contents remain. After opening the package, use a dropper tube (unidose) for 1 year.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any of the components that make up the Gylan Ultra Comfort ophthalmic solution.

Side effects

Rarely allergic reactions. Sometimes there is a feeling of bonding of the eyelids due to the viscosity of the solution.

Interaction

In the case of combined use with ophthalmic drugs, it is recommended to observe a pause of at least 30 minutes between instillation of Gylan Ultra Comfort solution and application of eye drops. Eye ointments should always be applied after instillation of Gylan Ultra Comfort solution.

How to take, course of use and dosage

Ophthalmic moisturizing solution Gylan Ultra comfort is instilled 1-2 drops in the conjunctival sac, as needed up to 6 times a day

Special instructions

The solution can be used during pregnancy and lactation. The solution does not apply to products that can affect the psychomotor state of a person, does not affect the ability to drive a car and work with mechanisms.

Storage conditions

Store at a temperature of +5°C to +25°C. Keep out of reach of children.

Shelf

life is 3 years. After opening the package – 1 year. Do not use after the expiration date.
