Composition 

In 1 g gel:

Active substance: Ketoprofen 50 mg,

Excipients: fruit of Cayenne pepper tincture (capsicum tincture) – 40 mg, dimethyl sulfoxide (Dimexidum) – 30 mg, camphor 30 mg, peppermint leaf oil (peppermint oil) 9 mg, hypromellose 20 mg, sodium hydroxide – 7 mg, ethanol 96 % – 350 mg, purified water – up to 1 year

Form release

Gel for external use with a characteristic odor of 30g or 50g in the tube.

Pharmacological action

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent for topical use.

Ketoprofen-nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agent, with local use has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and anti-edema effect. The mechanism of action is associated with suppression of the activity of the enzymes cyclooxygenase 1 and cyclooxygenase 2, regulating the synthesis of prostaglandins. When applied in the form of a gel provides a local therapeutic effect against the affected joints, tendons, ligaments, muscles. With articular syndrome reduces pain in the joints at rest and when moving, morning stiffness and swelling of the joints. It has no damaging effect on articular cartilage.

Indication for use

Acute and chronic inflammatory diseases of the musculoskeletal system (inflammatory lesion of ligaments and tendons, osteoarthritis, osteochondrosis with root syndrome, radiculitis, bursitis, sciatica, lumbago, articular syndrome with exacerbation of gout);

Muscle pain of rheumatic and non-rheumatic origin;

Post-traumatic inflammation of soft tissues and musculoskeletal system (injuries and ruptures of ligaments, injuries).

The drug is intended for symptomatic therapy, reduce pain and inflammation at the time of use, the progression of the disease does not affect.

Methods of application and doses

The drug is intended for external use. The gel should be applied to clean, dry skin. 

A small amount of gel (3-5 cm) is applied with a thin layer, followed by a careful rubbing in the inflamed or painful areas of the body.

The drug should be applied 2-3 times a day. The duration of treatment should not exceed 14 days.

Contraindications

individual hypersensitivity to Ketoprofen or other components of the drug;

• hypersensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) (provision in the history of bronchospasm, urticaria or rhinitis, caused by taking acetylsalicylic acid), tiaprofenic acid and fenofibrate; 
• full or partial combination of bronchial asthma, recurrent polyposis of the nose and paranasal sinuses and intolerance of acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs (including history);
• increased sensitivity of the skin to the effects of solar radiation (photosensitization) in the anamnesis;
• skin Allergy in the anamnesis on a sunscreen or perfumes;
• exposure to sunlight on the treated areas, including the Solarium, during the course of the drug and 2 weeks after; 
• skin damage (wet dermatoses, eczema, infected abrasions, wounds) at the site of the alleged application;
• pregnancy (III trimester), breastfeeding period;
• children under 18 years of age.

Special instruction

The gel should be applied only to intact areas of the skin, avoiding contact with open wounds, eyes and mucous membranes. After applying the drug, wash your hands. It is allowed to form a transparent film on the skin at the place of application of the gel. Do not use with occlusive dressings. Can be used for phonophoresis. Patients with severe renal, cardiac or hepatic impairment caution should be exercised when using Ketoprofen. Long-term use of local funds may lead to increased sensitivity and the appearance of symptoms of irritation of the skin at the site of application. In order to avoid manifestations of photosensitivity, it is recommended to avoid exposure to direct sunlight during the course of treatment, as well as after two weeks after the last use of the drug (including not to visit the Solarium).

Discontinue use of the drug in the event of any skin reaction including reactions when applying sunscreen or other cosmetics containing organic sun filter octocrylene.

Long-term use of the drug in large quantities in very rare cases you may experience systemic side effects (hypersensitivity reactions, disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, increasing flow of renal failure). The risk of systemic side effects increases depending on the amount of gel applied, the area of the treated area of the skin, the condition of the skin, duration.

The drug does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and work with mechanisms.
