Rowatinex – nephrolitholytic, antispasmodic, diuretic.
Pharmacodynamics
Rowatinex promotes the disintegration and elimination of kidney stones and urinary tract stones.
Terpenes, such as borneol, undergo metabolic changes and are excreted in the urine-mainly in the form of glucuronides, which increases the solubility of calcium salts (the main components of kidney stones and urinary tract stones). In a number of animal experiments, the inhibitory effect of Rowatinex on the formation of kidney and urinary tract stones was established.
Rowatinex has an antispasmodic effect, promotes the passage of stones through the urinary tract, reduces pain in renal and ureteral colic, increases renal blood flow, improving their function and increasing diuresis.
It has an anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial effect (against a number of gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms), increases the content of protective colloids and glucuronic acid in the urine.
Pharmacokinetics
The terpenes present in Rowatinex are fat-soluble and quickly absorbed.
Terpenes, such as borneol, undergo metabolic changes in the human body, turning into glucuronides, which are excreted in the urine.
Urolithiasis (nephrolithiasis, urolithiasis); prevention of kidney and urinary tract stones.
It is not recommended for children under 6 years of age; in the first trimester of pregnancy and during lactation.
With caution: taking oral anticoagulants and drugs primarily metabolized in the liver.
A small number of patients reported mild and transient stomach discomfort. Vomiting was very rare. In 2 cases, intolerance to the drug was observed (the cause is unknown).
Caution should be exercised when using the drug in patients taking oral anticoagulants or other drugs undergoing metabolism in the liver.

Treatment: if the drug is taken recently, it is necessary to wash the stomach, monitor the patient, applying symptomatic treatment if necessary.
Monitoring of cardiac, respiratory, renal and hepatic functions is recommended.
Rowatinex is not recommended for use in patients with severe renal colic, anuria, or severe urinary tract infection.
During treatment, you should increase your fluid intake.
