Composition

Active ingredient:  troxerutin 20 mg

Pharmacological action

Troxerutin is a venotonic, angioprotective agent, bioflavonoid. Reduces the permeability and fragility of capillaries, strengthens the vascular wall, improves microcirculation, and has an anti-edematous effect. Participates in redox processes, blocks hyaluronic acid of cell membranes. Increases the density of the vascular wall, reduces exudation of the liquid part of the plasma and diapedesis of blood cells. Reduces inflammation in the vascular wall, limiting the adhesion of platelets to its surface. The use of troxerutin is possible both at the initial and late stages of treatment of chronic venous insufficiency, it can be used as one of the components of complex treatment.

Indications

• Chronic venous insufficiency with such manifestations as static heaviness in the legs, leg ulcers, trophic lesions of the skin;
• varicose veins, superficial thrombophlebitis, periflebit, phlebothrombosis, varicose eczema, post-thrombotic syndrome, hemorrhoids, post-traumatic swelling and hematoma, hemorrhagic diathesis with increased capillary permeability, capillariasis (i. e. measles, scarlet fever, influenza), diabetic microangiopathy, retinopathy, vascular side effects of radiation therapy;
• as a prophylactic agent after vein surgery.

Side effects

Allergic reactions (skin rash).

How to take, course of use and dosage

Troxerutin is used topically. Topically, a 2% gel is used, which is applied evenly in a thin layer in the morning and evening to the affected area from the distal to the proximal part, gently rubbing until completely absorbed into the skin. The gel can also be applied under an occlusal dressing.
