No-Spa is a medication that has similar effects to papaverin but has more elongated action. The active ingredient is drotaverine hydrochloride. No-Spa expends vessels, reduces muscle contractions of inner organs and intestinal peristalsis. No-Spa does not affect central nervous system.
Uses:
- Spastic constipation, spastic colitis, pyelitis, tenesmus, proctisis, gastroduodenitis, GIT ulcers, endarteritis, coronary, cerebral and peripheral vessels spasms, algodismenorrhea
- Muscle spasms due to kidney, intestinal, bilious cramps, cholesteric, gallbladder dyskinesia, biliary dyskinesia, postcholecystectomy syndrome
- If you pregnant: to reduce risk of miscarriage, to prevent premature childbirth, to reduce uterine mouth spasms, to relieve afterbirth contractions.
- Is used for cholecystography and instrumental checkups.
Directions:
Adults: take 120-240mg spread in 2-3 intakes per day.
Children 1-6 years of age: take 40-120mg spread in 2-3 intakes per day.
Children 6 years and over: take 80-200mg spread in 2-5 intakes per day.
Side effects:
- Gastrointestinal disruptions: nausea, constipation
- Nervous system disorder: dizziness, headache, insomnia
- Cardiovascular disorders: excessive heartbeats, hypotension
Interaction with other medication:
Be cautious when using No-spa together with levodopa as anti-parkinsonian effects of levodopa decrease and tremor and rigidity increase.
Note: No-spa contains 52mg of lactose. Be cautious when taking if you are lactose intolerant.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding:
Tests and studies show that drotaverine when used during pregnancy has no teratogenic or embryotoxic effects. Ask a doctor before using. It is not recommended to take No-Spa during breast-feeding.
Other information:
No-Spa does not affect driving or attention concentration during any work. If side effects develop, seek medical advice.
No-Spa effectively relieves pain and spasms. It has spasmolytic, myotropic, vessel expanding and hypotensic properties.
