Pharmacological action
Belogent has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, antiproliferative and antipruritic effects.
Betamethasone has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, antiproliferative and antipruritic effects. When applied to the surface of the skin, it has a rapid and strong effect in the focus of inflammation, reducing the severity of objective symptoms (erythema, edema, lichenification) and subjective sensations (itching, irritation, pain).
Gentamicin has a broad-spectrum antibacterial (bactericidal) effect against most gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, including Streptococcus strains (beta-hemolytic, alpha-hemolytic), Staphylococcus aureus (coagulase-positive, coagulase-negative and some penicillinase-producing strains), proteus, and Escherichia coli.
Indications
Dermatoses, allergic and inflammatory skin diseases that respond to topical corticosteroid therapy, the course of which is complicated by bacterial infection or there is a risk of its attachment in children from 1 year and adults:
- eczema, diffuse neurodermatitis;
- dermatitis — atopic, contact (including occupational), allergic, seborrheic;
- infected dermatitis that developed as a result of insect bites;
- impetigo;
- psoriasis;
- lichen planus;
- phlebotoderma;
- anogenital pruritus.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
It is possible if the expected effect of therapy exceeds the potential risk to the fetus.
During pregnancy, the use of Belogent should not be prolonged and, if possible, limited to small areas of the skin.
During breastfeeding — only for strict indications, but you can not apply Belogent to the mammary gland before feeding.

Interaction
Clinically significant drug interactions of Belogent with other drugs have not been described.
How to take, course of use and dosage
Externally, the ointment is applied to the affected area of the skin in a thin layer in the amount necessary to cover the affected surface, lightly rubbing,2 times a day.
On areas with denser skin (elbows, palms, feet), as well as places from which the drug is easily erased, it can be applied more often, but no more than 4 times a day (for cream).
The duration of a continuous course of treatment is usually no more than 4 weeks.
To prevent relapses in the treatment of chronic diseases, treatment should be continued for some time after all symptoms disappear.
Repeated therapy is possible throughout the year.
The ointment can be used in children from 1 year with caution and for the shortest possible time.
Overdose
With prolonged continuous use of the drug, especially in children, on extensive skin surfaces, applied to skin with impaired integrity or when used under an occlusive dressing, systemic side effects may develop, but the probability of this is extremely low.
Special instructions
The drug is intended for external use only.
Long-term use of the drug on the skin of the face is not recommended, as rosacea, perioral dermatitis and acne may develop.
Do not use in the eye area, due to the likelihood of getting the drug on the mucous membrane, which can contribute to the development of cataracts, glaucoma, fungal infections of the eyes and exacerbation of herpes infection.
Some areas of the body (armpits, inguinal folds), where there is a natural occlusion, are more at risk of striae, so the use of the drug in these areas should be short-lived.
If a fungal infection develops on the skin, additional use of an antifungal agent is necessary.
With prolonged continuous use of the drug, especially in children, on extensive skin surfaces, applied to skin with impaired integrity or when used under an occlusive dressing, systemic side effects may develop, but the probability of this is extremely low.
Application in pediatrics. It can be used in children, with caution and for a short period of time. The duration of treatment should be as short as possible. Do not apply the drug to children under bandages and especially under plasticized diapers, because this increases the absorption of the drug and increases the risk of side effects.
