Pharmacological action

Stimulator of cartilage tissue regeneration (chondroprotector).

A high-molecular mucopolysaccharide derived from bovine tracheal cartilage.

It affects the metabolic processes in hyaline and fibrous cartilage, reduces degenerative changes in the cartilage tissue of joints, and stimulates the biosynthesis of glycosaminoglycans.

Promotes regeneration of the cartilage surfaces of joints and the articular bag, increases the production of intra-articular fluid. Slows down bone resorption and reduces calcium loss, accelerates the processes of bone recovery.

Treatment with Chondroitin-AKOS reduces pain and improves the mobility of the affected joints.

The therapeutic effect persists for a long time after the end of the course of treatment.

Indications

Degenerative diseases of the joints and spine: osteoarthritis, osteochondrosis of the spine.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

The drug is not recommended to be prescribed during pregnancy and lactation due to the lack of sufficient clinical data.

Contraindications

The drug should be used with caution in patients with bleeding and a tendency to bleeding, with thrombophlebitis.

Side effects

Interaction

How to take, course of use and dosage

Inside, during or after a meal, with at least 1/2 cup of water.

Adults and adolescents from 15 years of age are prescribed 1 g / day (2 capsules 2 times a day).

The recommended duration of the initial course of treatment is 6 months, the period of action of the drug after its withdrawal is 3-5 months, depending on the localization and stage of the disease, the duration of repeated courses of treatment is set by the doctor.

Overdose

Symptoms: in rare cases, symptoms of overdose from the gastrointestinal tract are possible: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea; with prolonged use of excessively high doses (over 3 g/day), hemorrhagic rashes are possible.

Treatment: symptomatic.
