On the dry skin of the scalp, apply 1 ml of Kosilon solution 2 times a day and rub it lightly, starting from the center of the affected area.
Hypersensitivity to minoxidil or other components of the drug Kosilon.
Under 18 years of age. Elderly – over 65 years of age.
Violation of the integrity of the skin, dermatosis of the scalp.
of 1 ml contains minoxidil 20 mg.
Drug for the treatment of pathological hair loss (alopecia) in men and women: Stops hair loss. Stimulates the growth of new hair. Restores the hairline.
1 ml contains minoxidil 20 mg
When applied externally, minoxidil has a stimulating effect on hair growth in individuals with androgenic alopecia (thinning hair, baldness).
Improves microcirculation, stimulates the transition of hair cells to the active growing phase, changes the effect of androgens on hair sacs.
Reduces the formation of 5-alpha-dehydrotestosterone (possibly indirectly), which plays a significant role in the formation of baldness. It has the best effect when the disease is not very old (no more than 10 years), patients are young, bald spots in the crown of the head are no more than 10 cm, and there are more than 100 downy and terminal hairs in the center of the bald spot.
The appearance of signs of hair growth is noted after 4 or more months of using the drug. The onset and severity of the effect may vary from patient to patient.
After stopping the use of the drug Kosilon®, new hair growth is suspended, and within 3-4 months it is possible to restore the original appearance.
The exact mechanism of action of Kosilon® in the treatment of androgenetic alopecia is unknown. Minoxidil is ineffective in the case of baldness caused by taking the drug, improper nutrition (iron (Fe) deficiency, vitamin A), as a result of styling hair in “tight” hairstyles.
Androgenetic alopecia in men and women (for the purpose of restoring the hairline or stabilizing the process of hair loss).
Hypersensitivity to minoxidil or other components of the drug Kosilon.
Under 18 years of age. Elderly – over 65 years of age.
Violation of the integrity of the skin, dermatosis of the scalp.
From the skin: hypertrichosis, thinning and increased pigmentation of body hair; when applied topically-dry and flaky scalp, dermatitis (itching, rash), eczema, increased alopecia, burning sensation of the scalp, folliculitis (sensitivity or soreness at the roots of the hair), erythema
Allergic reactions: rash, facial swelling, rhinitis, urticaria.
Others: sodium and water retention in the body, edema, shortness of breath, syncope, decreased libido.
There is a theoretical possibility of increasing orthostatic hypotension in patients receiving concomitant treatment with peripheral vasodilators, which, however, has not received clinical confirmation.
Very slight elevated levels of minoxidil in the blood of patients suffering from arterial hypertension and taking minoxidil orally cannot be excluded in the case of concomitant use of Kosilon®, although no relevant clinical studies have been conducted.
It has been established that minoxidil may interact with some other drugs for external use when used externally.
Concomitant use of a minoxidil solution for external use and a cream containing betamethasone (0.05%) leads to a decrease in the systemic absorption of minoxidil. Concomitant application of minoxidil to the skin and topical preparations such as tretinoin and ditranol, which cause changes in the protective functions of the skin, may lead to increased absorption of minoxidil.
On the dry skin of the scalp, apply 1 ml of Kosilon solution 2 times a day and rub it lightly, starting from the center of the affected area.
Accidental ingestion of Kosilon® may cause systemic side effects due to the vasodilating properties of minoxidil (5 ml of Kosilon® contains 250 mg of minoxidil, which is 2.5 times the maximum recommended dose for adults when taken orally in the treatment of arterial hypertension).
Signs of overdose: fluid retention, low blood pressure, tachycardia.
Treatment: If necessary, diuretics can be prescribed to eliminate fluid retention; beta – blockers can be used to treat tachycardia.
For the treatment of arterial hypotension,0.9% sodium chloride solution should be administered intravenously. Do not prescribe symptomatic medications, such as norepinephrine and epinephrine, which have excessive pacing activity.
Kosilon® should only be applied to dry scalp after bathing or at least 4 hours before bathing. After applying the drug to the scalp, hands should be thoroughly washed.
When using Kosilon®, it is recommended to wash your hair in the usual mode. Hairspray and other hair care products can be used during the use of Kosilon®. Before applying hair care products, you must first apply Kosilon® and wait until the treated area of the skin is completely dry. There is no evidence that hair coloring, perming, or the use of hair softeners can in any way reduce the effectiveness of the drug.
However, to prevent possible irritation of the scalp, it is necessary to make sure that the drug has been completely washed off the hair and scalp before using these chemicals. Before starting treatment with Kosilon®, patients should undergo a general examination, including the collection and study of a medical history. The doctor should make sure that the scalp is healthy.
If systemic side effects or severe skin reactions occur, patients should discontinue the drug and consult a doctor. The composition of the preparation Kosilon ® includes ethyl alcohol. If the drug gets on sensitive surfaces (eyes, irritated skin, mucous membranes), it is necessary to rinse the area with plenty of cold water.
