Pharmacological action
Gedelix is a plant-based product.
It has anti-inflammatory, wound-healing, and antioxidant effects.
Saponins exhibit antibacterial and antifungal activity.
Triterpenoids alpha-hederin, hederosaponins have antispasmodic, mucolytic and expectorant effects.
Flavonoids (rutin, kaempferol derivatives) improve microcirculation, show hepatoprotective and nephroprotective properties, increase diuresis, and promote the elimination of uric acid salts.
Indications
For infectious and inflammatory diseases of the upper respiratory tract and bronchi, accompanied by a cough with sputum that is difficult to separate.
Contraindications
Severe diseases of the cardiovascular system, thyroid disorders, hypersensitivity.
Side effects
Possible: Â allergic reactions, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.
In rare cases: Â pain in the epigastric region.
If any of the side effects listed in the instructions are aggravated or any other side effects that are not listed in the instructions appear, you should inform your doctor.
Interaction
The drug should not be used simultaneously with antitussive drugs, because this makes it difficult to remove the diluted sputum.
How to take, course of use and dosage
Inside, after eating.
If the doctor has not prescribed a different dosage, Gedelix should be taken:
- Adults and children over 10 years of age: Â 3 times a day-5 (single dose) – 15 (daily dose).
- Children 4-10 years old: Â 4 times a day-2.5 (single dose) – 10 (daily dose).
- Children 1-4 years old: Â 3 times a day-2.5 (single dose) – 7.5 (daily dose).
- Children under 1 year of age: Â 1 time a day-2.5 (single dose) – 2.5 (daily dose).
The package contains a measuring spoon. 1 measuring spoon corresponds to 5 ml.
Adults and adolescents are recommended to take Gedelix undiluted.
children and young children are recommended to give Gedelix diluted in a small amount of water.
The duration of use of the drug depends on the severity of the disease, but should be at least 7 days. After the symptoms of the disease disappear, it is recommended to continue treatment with the drug for 2-3 days.
Overdose
Symptoms: Â nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and gastroenteritis are possible.
Treatment: Â drug withdrawal, symptomatic therapy.
Special instructions
If there is no therapeutic effect on the background of taking the drug for 4-5 days or the patient’s condition worsens (the appearance of attacks of suffocation, purulent sputum, fever), you should immediately consult a doctor.
For patients with diabetes mellitus:  since Gedelix® does not contain sugar, it can be used by patients with diabetes mellitus. 1 scoop (5 ml) contains 1.75 g of sorbitol (corresponding to 0.44 g of fructose), which corresponds to 0.15 XE.
Influence on the ability to drive a car or perform work that requires an increased rate of physical and mental reactions. The use of the drug does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and engage in other potentially dangerous activities that require increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions.
