Antiseptic agent. The main active ingredient is molecular iodine, which has antiseptic properties. When applied to large areas of the skin, iodine has a resorptive effect: It is involved in the synthesis of thyroxine and triiodothyronine.
Ethanol slows down the elimination of iodine and reduces its irritating effect on tissues.
It has a bactericidal effect on both gram-positive and gram – negative flora (most actively on Streptococcus spp. and Escherichia coli), as well as on pathogenic fungi and yeast. Most strains of Staphylococcus spp. resistant, but with prolonged use of the drug in 80% of cases, suppression of staphylococcal flora is noted. Pseudomonas aeruginosa is stable.

It is not recommended to use the drug during pregnancy. Use during breastfeeding is possible if the expected benefit to the mother exceeds the potential risk to the child. You should consult your doctor.
Hypersensitivity to iodine.
For oral use-pulmonary tuberculosis, nephritis, nephrosis, adenomas (including thyroid gland), furunculosis, acne, chronic pyoderma, hemorrhagic diathesis, urticaria, pregnancy, children under 5 years of age.
Skin irritation, allergic reactions (pruritus), prolonged use on large wound surfaces – iodism (rhinitis, urticaria, angioedema, increased salivation, lacrimation, acne).
Pharmacologically incompatible with essential oils, ammonia solutions, enzymes, reducing agents and alkalis, disinfecting drugs containing mercury; an explosive mixture is formed with white sedimentary mercury (mercury amidochloride).
Externally. Lubricate the affected or treated areas of the skin.
In case of overdose, the phenomena of iodism, irritation and burns of the skin are possible. Treatment: symptomatic; wash off excess drug with clean running water.
Light and ambient and body temperatures above 40 °C accelerate the breakdown of active iodine.
The drug should have a dark brown color. Discoloration of the solution indicates the destruction of the complex with the transition of active iodine to the iodide ion and a decrease in the effectiveness of the drug.
An alkaline or acidic environment, the presence of fat, pus, and blood weaken the antiseptic activity.
The use of the drug according to the instructions for medical use does not adversely affect the performance of dangerous activities that require special attention and rapid reactions. Avoid contact with eyes.
