Composition
>1 ml of the drug contains: Active ingredient: tetrisoline hydrochloride-0.50 mg; excipients: boric acid-12.30 mg, sodium chloride-2.23 mg, disodium edetate dihydrate-1.00 mg, benzalkonium chloride solution 50% – 0.20 mg (in terms of benzalkonium chloride-0.10 mg), sodium tetraborate-0.57 mg, purified water-989.78 mg.
Clinical Pharmacology
Pharmacodynamics : Tetrisoline is a sympathomimetic drug that stimulates the alpha-adrenergic receptors of the sympathetic nervous system, but has no or weak effect on beta-adrenergic receptors. Being a sympathomimetic amine, tetrisoline has a vasoconstrictive effect and reduces tissue edema. The effect begins 60 seconds after instillation and lasts 4-8 hours. Pharmacokinetics: When applied topically, it is practically not absorbed. Detailed pharmacokinetic studies after topical application of eye drops have not been conducted.
Indications
Adults and children over 2 years of age are prescribed to relieve swelling and hyperemia of the conjunctiva (redness of the eyes) that occur with allergies or due to exposure to chemical and physical factors (smoke, dust, chlorinated water, light, cosmetics, contact lenses). Children under 6 years of age are prescribed under the supervision of a doctor.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
Data on the penetration of the drug through the placenta and into breast milk are not available.
Taking into account the possibility of developing systemic side effects, the drug can be used during pregnancy and lactation only if, in the opinion of the doctor, the expected benefit to the mother exceeds the potential risk to the fetus and child.
Contraindications
Children under 2 years of age. The drug “Visin ® Classic” should not be prescribed to patients with hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, patients with angle-closure glaucoma and endothelial-epithelial corneal dystrophy.

How to take, course of use and dosage

Overdose

Treatment of overdose in case of ingestion: prescribe activated charcoal, gastric lavage, oxygen inhalation, antipyretics and anticonvulsants. To reduce blood pressure, phentolamine 5 mg in saline solution is used slowly intravenously or 100 mg orally. Vasopressors are contraindicated in patients with low blood pressure. Special instructions
Visin ® Classic should be used with caution in elderly patients, in patients with aneurysms, hypertension and / or coronary heart disease, as well as in patients with type I diabetes mellitus or hyperthyroidism. Safety studies of the drug in children and adolescents have not been conducted. The drug contains benzalkonium chloride, which can cause eye irritation and discoloration of soft contact lenses.
