Dosage Regimen
| The method of application and dosage regimen for a specific drug depend on its form of release and other factors. The optimal dosage regimen is determined by the doctor. It is necessary to strictly adhere to the compliance of the dosage form of a specific drug with the indications for use and dosage regimen. |
Administer the syrup orally. Shake the bottle thoroughly before each use to resuspend any sediment.
For adults and adolescents aged 14 years and older, take 15 ml of syrup three to four times daily.
For children aged 6 to 14 years, take 10 ml of syrup three times daily.
For children aged 3 to 6 years, take 5 ml of syrup three times daily.
For children aged 1 to 3 years, take 2.5 ml of syrup three times daily. Use the provided measuring cup for accurate dosing.
Take the syrup after meals to ensure optimal tolerability.
The standard treatment course is 10 to 14 days. Continue treatment for 2-3 days after symptoms resolve. Consult a physician if symptoms persist beyond this period.
For sachet packaging, use one single-dose sachet at a time according to the age-specific dosage. Do not use a partial sachet for pediatric dosing.
Do not administer to children under 1 year of age due to the risk of allergic reactions and immature metabolic pathways.
Avoid concurrent use with antitussive medications, particularly codeine, as this may inhibit the expectorant effect and lead to sputum retention.
Adverse Reactions
Possible allergic reactions.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to thyme; when taken orally – impaired liver function, kidney function, gastritis with high acidity, gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer; pregnancy, breastfeeding period; childhood – depending on the method of application and dosage form.
Use in Pregnancy and Lactation
Contraindicated for use during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding).
Pediatric Use
Use in children is possible according to indications, in age-appropriate recommended doses and dosage forms. It is necessary to strictly follow the instructions in the thyme drug leaflets regarding contraindications for the use of specific thyme dosage forms in children of different ages.
Special Precautions
When used orally as an expectorant, it is not recommended to use Thyme simultaneously with drugs containing codeine and other antitussive medications (this makes it difficult to expel liquefied sputum).
