Pharmacological Action

Decametoxin (decamethylenedimethylmenthoxycarbonylmethyammonium dichloride) has a bactericidal effect against Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus spp., Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli.

Indications

Acute, chronic conjunctivitis and blepharoconjunctivitis; pre-, postoperative period, prevention of purulent-inflammatory complications; contact lens care.

Dosage Regimen

The method of application and dosage regimen for a specific drug depend on its form of release and other factors. The optimal dosage regimen is determined by the doctor. It is necessary to strictly adhere to the compliance of the dosage form of a specific drug with the indications for use and dosage regimen.

For acute purulent conjunctivitis and after ophthalmic operations, instill as a 0.02% aqueous solution, 4-5 drops into the conjunctival sac 4-6 times/day.

For chronic conjunctivitis and blepharoconjunctivitis, administer 2-3 drops into the conjunctival sac 4-5 times/day.

For prophylactic purposes: 1 day before surgery – 2-3 drops 4-6 times a day and after surgery – for 3-5 days.

For contact lens care, immerse the lenses in a 0.02% solution for 10-15 minutes, then rinse in a sterile 0.9% sodium chloride solution.

Allergic reactions, skin rash.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to decametoxin.

Storage Conditions

Store at 2°C (36°F) to 25°C (77°F). Keep in original packaging, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
