Pharmacological Action

It prevents the development of symptoms of allergic rhinitis (profuse mucous discharge, nasal congestion, itching, sneezing) by mechanically blocking the effect of household, epidermal, and pollen allergens on the nasal mucosa.

The drug Doctor Theiss Alergol is chemically neutral. It does not penetrate the skin and is not absorbed.

Indications

  • Use for the management of symptoms in patients with allergic rhinitis as part of a comprehensive treatment plan.
  • Employ to provide a mechanical barrier against common environmental allergens, including household dust, animal dander, and pollen, which trigger nasal inflammation.

Dosage Regimen

The method of application and dosage regimen for a specific drug depend on its form of release and other factors. The optimal dosage regimen is determined by the doctor. It is necessary to strictly adhere to the compliance of the dosage form of a specific drug with the indications for use and dosage regimen.

Administer intranasally only. First, ensure the nasal cavity is cleansed.

Apply a quantity of ointment approximately 1 cm in length to the mucosal lining of the anterior section of each nasal passage.

Repeat this application every 3 to 5 hours, ensuring a minimum frequency of twice daily. The full therapeutic course consists of 60 applications.

Adverse Reactions

No adverse reactions have been identified or reported during the use of this product.

The formulation is chemically inert and is not systemically absorbed, which contributes to its favorable safety profile.

Contraindications

  • Do not use in the presence of any damage to the nasal cavity, including but not limited to active nosebleeds, open wounds, or recent surgical interventions, as application may interfere with the natural healing process.
  • Avoid use if there is a known hypersensitivity to any component of the highly purified hydrocarbon fraction mixture.

Special Precautions

It should not be used in case of damage to the nasal cavity (including after surgical interventions or nosebleeds) so as not to disrupt the natural healing process.

The use of the drug at night (or before bedtime) is poorly studied, therefore it is not recommended to use it before going to bed and at night.

If the ointment is used twice a day, 5 g of the drug will be sufficient for 60 applications over 2 months of use.

Drug Interactions

This product can be used concomitantly with other medicines, including other allergy treatments.

Its mechanism of action is purely physical (forming a barrier), and it does not undergo metabolic processes, thereby presenting a low risk for pharmacokinetic interactions.

Storage Conditions

The drug should be stored at a temperature not exceeding 25°C (77°F), in a place inaccessible to children.

Shelf Life

Shelf life – 5 years.

Do not use after the expiration date.
