Dietary supplement – source of carotenoids, omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins and minerals

Indications

  • As a dietary supplement to the diet to provide the body with an additional complex of vitamins, minerals, and other essential micronutrients.
  • To support cardiovascular system function and contribute to the maintenance of normal cholesterol levels in the blood, primarily due to the content of Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, folic acid, and B vitamins.
  • To help reduce fatigue and exhaustion and support normal energy metabolism, facilitated by the B-group vitamins, magnesium, and vitamin C contained in the formulation.
  • To support the normal functioning of the nervous system and psychological functions, which is aided by components such as thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, biotin, and magnesium.
  • To contribute to the protection of cells from oxidative stress and support the immune system, thanks to the antioxidant properties of vitamins C, E, selenium, and zinc included in the composition.
  • To support muscle function and the maintenance of normal bones and teeth, which is promoted by magnesium and vitamin D (indirectly through supporting calcium metabolism).

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity (allergy) to any of the components of the dietary supplement, including soy, fish, and gelatin. Patients with known fish or seafood allergies should exercise extreme caution due to the presence of fish oil in the “Day” capsule.
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding. The use of this complex during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended due to the high content of certain vitamins (such as vitamin A in the form of precursors) and other active components, the safety of which in these periods has not been sufficiently studied for this specific formulation.
  • Children and adolescents under 18 years of age. The safety and efficacy of the supplement have not been established for this age group. The dosage of active ingredients is calculated for the needs of an adult organism.
  • Hyperthyroidism and other conditions requiring iodine restriction. The “Evening” capsule contains potassium iodide, so the supplement is contraindicated in cases where iodine intake should be limited as per a doctor’s recommendation.
  • Patients with severe renal impairment or end-stage renal disease, due to the potential risk of accumulation of minerals and vitamins that are excreted by the kidneys.
  • Individuals with hemochromatosis (a disorder of iron metabolism) or other conditions associated with impaired accumulation of trace elements contained in the supplement (e.g., selenium, chromium).

Dosage Regimen

The method of application and dosage regimen for a specific drug depend on its form of release and other factors. The optimal dosage regimen is determined by the doctor. It is necessary to strictly adhere to the compliance of the dosage form of a specific drug with the indications for use and dosage regimen.

The recommended daily dose for adults is three capsules per day, taken one at a time with meals, according to their designated time: one “Morning” capsule in the morning, one “Day” capsule at lunch, and one “Evening” capsule in the evening.

The capsules should be swallowed whole with a sufficient amount of liquid (e.g., a glass of water). Do not chew the capsules. Adherence to the specified intake schedule (morning, day, evening) is important to ensure the optimal absorption and synergistic effect of the components, as the composition of each capsule is tailored to the body’s biorhythms and metabolic needs at different times of the day.

The duration of use is not strictly limited, but it is recommended to take the supplement in courses. For continuous long-term use (exceeding 2-3 months), it is advisable to consult a doctor or pharmacist. The daily dose should not be exceeded.

Adverse Reactions

Adverse reactions when taking Doppelherz® V.i.p Cardio system 3 are rare and usually mild. The most commonly reported reactions are related to the gastrointestinal tract.

These may include nausea, abdominal discomfort, diarrhea, or constipation. Such symptoms are often transient and may resolve on their own as the body adjusts to the supplement. Taking the capsules with meals can help minimize these effects.

In rare cases, allergic reactions such as skin rash, itching, or urticaria may occur, especially in individuals with known hypersensitivity to the components (e.g., fish, soy, or other ingredients). In the event of any signs of an allergic reaction, use of the supplement should be discontinued immediately.

Due to the high dose of fish oil in the “Day” capsule, some individuals may experience a fishy aftertaste or burping. Refrigerating the product and taking the capsule with meals can help reduce this effect. The high content of B vitamins may cause a temporary, harmless darkening or bright yellow coloration of the urine.

If any other adverse effects not listed here occur, it is recommended to stop taking the supplement and seek medical advice.

Drug Interactions

The components of Doppelherz® V.i.p Cardio system 3 may interact with certain medications, which could affect their efficacy or increase the risk of adverse effects.

Vitamin K antagonists (e.g., Warfarin): High doses of Omega-3 fatty acids may have a slight anticoagulant effect and, in theory, could potentiate the effect of blood thinners. While the dose in this supplement is generally considered moderate, patients taking anticoagulants should consult their doctor before use and may require more frequent monitoring of INR (International Normalized Ratio).

Levothyroxine and other thyroid medications: The “Evening” capsule contains potassium iodide. Iodine can affect thyroid function and interfere with the action of thyroid hormones. Patients with thyroid disorders and those taking thyroid medications should use this supplement only under medical supervision.

Tetracycline antibiotics and bisphosphonates (e.g., Alendronate): Minerals such as magnesium, zinc, and calcium can form insoluble complexes with these drugs in the gastrointestinal tract, significantly reducing their absorption. To avoid this interaction, a time gap of at least 2-3 hours (preferably 4 hours) should be maintained between taking the medication and the dietary supplement.

Diuretics (particularly potassium-sparing diuretics) and ACE inhibitors: The supplement contains magnesium. Concurrent use with these medications, which can reduce magnesium excretion, may lead to an increased risk of hypermagnesemia (elevated magnesium levels in the blood), especially in patients with renal impairment.

It is important to inform your doctor or pharmacist about all the medications and other dietary supplements you are taking before starting this complex.

Overdose

Acute overdose with this dietary supplement is unlikely due to its form and packaging. However, chronic excessive intake of certain vitamins and minerals can lead to adverse health effects.

Symptoms of acute overdose from a single very high dose may include severe gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. In case of accidental ingestion of a very large number of capsules, seek medical attention immediately or contact a poison control center.

Consequences of chronic overdose (long-term intake of doses significantly exceeding the recommended daily intake) are more concerning. Excessive intake of vitamin E may increase the risk of bleeding. High doses of selenium can lead to selenosis, characterized by hair loss, nail brittleness, and neurological abnormalities. Excessive iodine intake can disrupt thyroid function, leading to either hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism. High intake of magnesium from supplements can cause diarrhea and, in severe cases, more serious electrolyte imbalances, especially in individuals with kidney problems.

There is no specific antidote. Treatment is symptomatic and supportive. It is crucial to adhere to the recommended dosage and not to combine this supplement with other products containing high doses of the same vitamins and minerals to avoid cumulative overdose.
