Pharmacological Action

A diuretic agent of plant origin. The complex of biologically active substances of Equisetum arvense herb (including silicic acid, saponins, tannins, flavonoids, organic acids, salts) provides diuretic, anti-inflammatory, and detoxification (eliminates lead) effects. In urine, silicon salts form colloids that prevent the crystallization of urinary calculi.

Indications

As part of complex therapy for edematous syndrome of various origins (impaired renal function, chronic heart failure); for inflammatory processes of the bladder and urinary tract (cystitis, urethritis).

Dosage Regimen

The method of application and dosage regimen for a specific drug depend on its form of release and other factors. The optimal dosage regimen is determined by the doctor. It is necessary to strictly adhere to the compliance of the dosage form of a specific drug with the indications for use and dosage regimen.

Herbal raw material

10 g (2 tablespoons) of the herb are placed in an enamel bowl, pour 200 ml (1 glass) of hot boiled water, cover with a lid and heat in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes, cool at room temperature for 45 minutes, strain, and squeeze out the remaining raw material. The volume of the resulting infusion is adjusted to 200 ml with boiled water.

Take orally 1/4 glass 3-4 times a day 15 minutes before meals. The infusion is recommended to be shaken before use.

Adverse Reactions

Possible allergic reactions; with prolonged use, irritation of the renal parenchyma is possible.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to Equisetum arvense; nephritis, nephrosis, nephrosonephritis; pregnancy, breastfeeding period; children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

Contraindicated for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Use in Renal Impairment

Contraindicated in nephritis, nephrosis, nephrosonephritis.

Pediatric Use

Contraindicated for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

Special Precautions

The diuretic effect appears from the first day of using the product and throughout the entire course of treatment, as well as during repeated courses (no addiction to Equisetum preparations).

Storage Conditions

Store at 2°C (36°F) to 25°C (77°F). Keep in original packaging, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
