Pharmacological Action
Ferrum phosphoricum is a compound of hydrated ferrous phosphate, ferric phosphate, and hydrated iron oxides; a gray-blue powder, practically insoluble in water and alcohol.
Clinical observations have confirmed the effect of Ferrum phosphoricum on inflammatory processes accompanied by a slight increase in body temperature, asthenia, and a tendency to local hyperemia or bleeding (in particular, nasal).
Indications
Key symptoms for prescribing the drug
- Tendency to bleed;
- Dry throat;
- Stabbing pain in the chest area;
- Scapulohumeral pain and/or brachialgia, usually on the right side;
- Flushing of the face;
- Marked weakness:
- With increased sensitivity to pain;
- With increased sensitivity to noise, even faint (tinnitus);
- With dizziness.
Main cases of clinical application
Febrile state or inflammatory processes
- Febrile state or inflammatory processes characterized by gradual development and moderately elevated temperature, including diseases accompanied by rashes, diseases in the incubation or invasive period, viral diseases.
Otorhinolaryngology
- Acute rhinopharyngitis, usually accompanied by nosebleeds and/or otalgia;
- Acute congestive otitis;
- Laryngitis, tracheitis, bronchitis;
- Recurrent nosebleeds in patients suffering from repeated episodes of rhinopharyngitis.
Urology
- Urinary incontinence (may be daytime or nocturnal); usually affects asthenic children.

The granules should be dissolved in the mouth 30 minutes before meals or 60 minutes after meals.
For children from 0 to 3 years old, the granules are first diluted by shaking in 10-15 ml of water at room temperature and given to drink.
The optimal amount per dose is 5 granules.
