Dosage Form, Packaging, and Composition

Ointment for external use from white to light yellow with a grayish tint, with a menthol odor, homogeneous in appearance.

Zinc oxide 100 mg

Excipients: levomenthol – 7.5 mg, talc – 100 mg, anhydrous lanolin – 152.5 mg, petrolatum – 610 mg.

25 g – dark glass jars (1) – cardboard packs.
30 g – aluminum tubes (1) – cardboard packs.

Pharmacological Action

A combined drug for external use. It has anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, absorbent, astringent, and drying effects.

It coagulates proteins (including enzymes) of the microbial cell, disrupting the permeability of the cell membrane.

It reduces exudation and relieves local inflammation and irritation.

  • Atopic dermatitis;
  • Neurodermatitis;
  • Microbial eczema;
  • Lichen planus.

Dosage Regimen

The method of application and dosage regimen for a specific drug depend on its form of release and other factors. The optimal dosage regimen is determined by the doctor. It is necessary to strictly adhere to the compliance of the dosage form of a specific drug with the indications for use and dosage regimen.

Apply the ointment externally only.

Apply a thin layer to the affected skin areas 1-2 times daily.

Gently rub the ointment into the skin until absorbed.

Limit the duration of application and the surface area treated to minimize the risk of systemic absorption of boric acid.

Discontinue use and consult a physician if signs of irritation or allergic reaction appear.

Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.

Do not apply to extensive skin areas, especially if the skin barrier is compromised.

Wash hands thoroughly before and after application.

Allergic reactions, itching, hyperemia, rash.

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug;
  • Impaired renal function;
  • Acute inflammatory skin diseases;
  • Childhood;
  • Pregnancy and lactation period.

With caution: extensive skin lesions.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

The use of this drug is contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.

Use in Renal Impairment

Contraindicated in cases of impaired renal function.

Pediatric Use

The use of this drug is contraindicated in childhood.

Special Precautions

The ointment is for external use only. Avoid contact with eyes.

Overdose

In case of overdose or prolonged application of the ointment over a large area of damaged skin, intoxication symptoms due to the boric acid contained in the drug are possible: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, skin rash.

Treatment: symptomatic.

The drug should be stored out of the reach of children at a temperature not exceeding 25°C (77°F).
