Pharmacological Action

A combined herbal preparation used for colds.

It has expectorant, anti-inflammatory, mucolytic, and antipyretic effects.

Pharmacokinetics

Since the drug is a multicomponent herbal medicine, studying its pharmacokinetics is not possible.

Indications

  • Symptomatic therapy of acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) for body temperature up to 38°C (100.4°F).
  • Use for associated symptoms including headache, nasal congestion, sore throat, and cough.

Dosage Regimen

The method of application and dosage regimen for a specific drug depend on its form of release and other factors. The optimal dosage regimen is determined by the doctor. It is necessary to strictly adhere to the compliance of the dosage form of a specific drug with the indications for use and dosage regimen.

For adults, take one sachet orally two to three times daily after meals. Dissolve the entire contents of a single sachet completely in a glass of hot water and drink the solution slowly.

The standard treatment course is seven to eight days. Do not extend the duration of therapy beyond this period without explicit medical advice from a physician.

Granules

Adults take 1 sachet orally 2-3 times/day after meals. The contents of 1 sachet should be dissolved in a glass of hot water and drunk slowly.

The course of treatment is 7-8 days. Increasing the duration of the course of treatment is possible on the recommendation of a doctor.

Adverse Reactions

Allergic reactions may occur in individuals with heightened sensitivity to the product’s components. Discontinue use immediately and seek medical attention if any signs of hypersensitivity, such as rash, itching, or swelling, develop.

Contraindications

  • Pregnancy and throughout the entire lactation period (breastfeeding).
  • Use in children and adolescents under the age of 18 years.
  • Known hypersensitivity or previous allergic reaction to any of the herbal or inactive components of the drug.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

The drug is contraindicated for use during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding).

Use in Hepatic Impairment

The drug should be used with caution in severe renal impairment.

Use in Renal Impairment

The drug should be used with caution in severe hepatic impairment.

Pediatric Use

The use of the drug is contraindicated in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

Special Precautions

Use with caution in severe impairment of liver, kidney, cardiovascular system function, and increased blood clotting.

In case of body temperature rising above 38°C (100.4°F), increased cough, wheezing in the lungs, purulent sputum, rhinorrhea with purulent discharge, sore throat, the drug should be discontinued and a doctor should be consulted; antibacterial therapy and NSAIDs are prescribed.

Drug Interactions

Avoid concomitant use with centrally-acting antitussive drugs (e.g., codeine) and other medications that suppress the cough reflex or reduce sputum production.

Such combinations can lead to dangerous retention of liquefied bronchial secretions in the airways, increasing the risk of secondary infection and respiratory complications.

Storage Conditions

Store at 2°C (36°F) to 25°C (77°F). Keep in original packaging, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
