Pharmacological Action

Magnesium is a vital element. It plays an important role in the activity of the nervous system, participates in the regulation of nerve impulse transmission and muscle contraction, in most metabolic reactions, promotes energy production and consumption, and plays an important physiological role in maintaining ionic balance.

Magnesium deficiency manifests as neuromuscular disorders (insomnia, irritability, anxiety), cardiac rhythm disturbances (extrasystole, tachycardia) and gastrointestinal tract disorders (pain, diarrhea, cramps, intestinal bloating).

Vitamin B6 plays an important role in metabolism, promotes normal functioning of the nervous system and complements the effect of magnesium.

Vitamin B12 and Folic acid participate in many enzymatic reactions.

Indications

Magnesium deficiency and associated conditions.

Dosage Regimen

The method of application and dosage regimen for a specific drug depend on its form of release and other factors. The optimal dosage regimen is determined by the doctor. It is necessary to strictly adhere to the compliance of the dosage form of a specific drug with the indications for use and dosage regimen.

Administer orally. Dissolve one effervescent tablet in a glass of water before use.

Take the solution once daily in the afternoon.

For adults and children over 12 years, the standard dose is one tablet per day.

For children aged 6 to 12 years, the dose is half a tablet once daily.

The duration of treatment is determined by the physician based on clinical need and serum magnesium levels.

Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.

Monitor for signs of hypermagnesemia, especially in patients with moderate renal impairment.

Correct magnesium deficiency prior to initiating calcium supplementation if a concomitant calcium deficiency is present.

Adverse Reactions

Possible allergic reactions, dyspeptic disorders (diarrhea, abdominal pain).

When used in increased doses hypermagnesemia may develop.

Contraindications

Severe renal failure (CrCl<30 ml/min); children under 6 years of age; hypersensitivity to the components of the combination.

With caution

Moderate renal failure (because of the risk of hypermagnesemia).

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

Can be used during pregnancy.

Magnesium passes into breast milk, so use should be avoided during breastfeeding.

Use in Renal Impairment

Contraindication – severe renal failure (CrCl< 30 ml/min).

Pediatric Use

Contraindicated in children under 6 years. Children from 6 to 12 years – 1/2 tablet.

Special Precautions

In case of concomitant calcium deficiency, the magnesium deficiency should be corrected before starting additional calcium intake. With frequent use of laxatives, alcohol, increased physical and mental stress, the need for magnesium increases.

Drug Interactions

Phosphates and calcium salts reduce the absorption of magnesium in the gastrointestinal tract.

Magnesium preparations reduce the absorption of tetracycline; it is recommended to maintain a 3-hour interval before using this combination.

Vitamin B6 inhibits the activity of levodopa.

Storage Conditions
