Pharmacological Action
[I] – Instructions for medical use approved by the Pharmacological Committee of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation 24.06.2005
A combined preparation containing a complex of vitamins and minerals.
Insufficient supply of vitamins and minerals in pregnant and lactating women harms the health of the mother and child, is one of the causes of prematurity, congenital malformations, and disorders of physical and mental development in children.
Taking multivitamins during the conception period reduces the risk of serious birth defects, premature birth, and low birth weight by 50% and improves maternal health during pregnancy. Multivitamins and a complex of minerals increase the activity of immune responses and metabolic processes.
B vitamins (Folic acid, vitamin B6 and B12) affect the level of homocysteine in the blood – a risk factor for the development of vascular diseases and pregnancy complications (preeclampsia, fetal hypotrophy, fetal neural tube defect). Additional intake of these vitamins leads to a decrease and normalization of homocysteine levels in the blood.
Deficiency of folic acid in pregnant women is a trigger for the development of miscarriage, partial or complete placental abruption, spontaneous abortion or stillbirth, increases the risk of congenital malformations in the fetus, in particular neural tube defects, hydrocephalus, anencephaly, cerebral hernias.
An optimal amount of iodine during pregnancy is necessary for the formation of the fetal nervous, immune and reproductive systems, as well as for maintaining hormonal balance. Iodine is especially important in the I and II trimesters of pregnancy – the period of formation of the fetal organs and systems, including the thyroid gland.
Zinc is necessary for the normal formation of the fetal skeleton, affects the synthesis of sex hormones, is responsible for the functional state of the insular apparatus, and reduces the likelihood of a number of intrauterine anomalies.
Selenium, due to its antioxidant properties, has a protective effect on the immune system, preventing the formation of free radicals that have a damaging effect on the body.
Indications
- Period of preparation for pregnancy;
- Prevention and treatment of vitamin and mineral deficiency in women during pregnancy and breastfeeding;
- Prevention of congenital malformations of the fetus caused by deficiency of vitamins and minerals.
