Dietary supplement for supporting visual function

Properties

The dietary supplement Ocuvite® Max is a source of carotenoids (lutein, zeaxanthin), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and an additional source of vitamins C, E and zinc, specially designed to maintain eye health.

The components included in the product are not produced by the body and are recommended for inclusion in the daily diet. The carotenoids contained in the product composition help protect the retina from the damaging effects of bright light, reduce the risk of occurrence and development of age-related degenerative changes in the retina, and possess antioxidant properties.

Lutein is a carotenoid that serves as a natural protection for the retina from excessively bright light, reduces the risk of occurrence and development of age-related degenerative changes in the retina, and possesses antioxidant properties.

Zeaxanthin is a yellow pigment from the xanthophyll group, accumulates in the pigment of the human eye retina, plays a role as a protective mechanism against light-induced cell damage, and promotes the destruction of lipofuscin. Clinical studies have shown that long-term intake of lutein and zeaxanthin increases macular pigment density and helps maintain high visual acuity.

Vitamins C and E, and Zinc, included in the composition of the Ocuvite® Max dietary supplement, are natural antioxidants and help reduce the impact of harmful factors and preserve vision, contribute to strengthening blood vessels, including the vessels of the fundus.

Vitamin C is one of the main antioxidants necessary for humans. It participates in the regulation of redox processes, carbohydrate metabolism, blood clotting, regulates the restoration of visual pigments, reduces elevated intraocular pressure, and lowers the risk of developing glaucoma.

Vitamin E acts as a biological antioxidant, inactivating free radicals and thereby preventing their formation. It prevents increased fragility and permeability of capillaries. It contributes to the prevention of the occurrence and worsening of existing cataracts.

Zinc participates in the processes of antioxidant protection of cell membranes. It protects the eyes from damage due to exposure to ultraviolet light and bright light. Zinc intake helps slow age-related changes in the retina. Zinc deficiency can lead to reduced color perception and cataract formation.

Omega-3 unsaturated fatty acids (Docosahexaenoic acid – DHA). Some studies show that omega-3 fatty acids may help protect the adult eye from macular degeneration and “dry eye” syndrome. Essential fatty acids also support the normal function of the eye’s drainage system, which ensures the outflow of intraocular fluid, reducing the risk of increased intraocular pressure and the development of glaucoma. Omega-3 fatty acids may also help prevent the development of “dry eye” syndrome. Studies conducted by scientists have shown a positive result from the topical application of linolenic acid, which led to a significant reduction in signs of dry eyes and inflammation associated with dry eyes.
