Properties
Ophthalmic lubricating product.
Irritation of the eye and eyelid skin is caused by various factors. Adverse environmental conditions, such as intense solar radiation, wind, dust, indoor air conditioning, prolonged computer work, and driving can cause irritation of the anterior surface of the eye (cornea and conjunctiva). Reduced tear fluid production, and, as a consequence, irritation of the ocular surface, can be caused by taking certain medicines.
In all cases, irritation of the ocular surface is accompanied by manifestations such as burning, itching, tearing, redness of the eye, and the sensation of a foreign body in the eye. Sometimes, irritation of the eyelid skin may occur.
This product alleviates the course of these manifestations by forming a comfortable, stable film on the surface of the eye. Due to the oily, ointment-like consistency of the product, slight blurring of vision may occur.
Therefore, this product should be used exclusively before bedtime, which contributes to the rapid disappearance of complaints about unpleasant and painful sensations upon first opening the eyes in the morning.
It can be used to relieve irritation and for the care of eyelid skin and sensitive skin around the eyes in the case of dermatological diseases accompanied by dry and irritated skin.
Heparin sodium has a chemical structure similar to the components forming the mucin layer of the tear film. An important role of the mucin layer is to create the effect of adhesion of the tear fluid to the tissues of the cornea and conjunctiva of the eye, keeping them moistened.
The cornea and conjunctiva of the eye are mucous membranes that must constantly be softened and moistened to maintain their normal physiological state and ensure regenerative capacity.
It improves the condition of the tear film and protects the ocular surface. Its use alleviates symptoms of an irritated eye, such as burning and itching. The eyelids glide easily over the surface of the cornea and conjunctiva.
Scope of Application
For the protection of the anterior surface of the eye (cornea and conjunctiva), elimination and alleviation of eye irritation, redness around the cornea, as well as burning and itching caused by adverse environmental factors or impaired tear fluid production; for relieving irritation and caring for eyelid skin; for caring for sensitive skin around the eyes in the case of dermatological diseases accompanied by dry and irritated skin.
