Pharmacological Action

Ruta graveolens is a plant that grows on the desert slopes of hills in southern Europe, with yellow umbrella-shaped flowers with an unpleasant odor.

Composition

  • Rutin (quercetin-3-rutinoside);
  • Essential oil, effective for dermatoses;
  • Alkaloids;
  • Furanocoumarins.

The mother tincture has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antifungal properties.

Rutin has a vasoactive effect.

Indications

Key symptoms for prescribing the drug

  • Bruise formation, pain, stiffness, mainly in the area of the wrist, ankle joints, and spine;
  • Soreness, especially when bending;
  • Pain in the parts of the body in contact with the bed, which forces the patient to constantly change position;
  • Painful eye fatigue as a result of excessive visual strain (sewing, reading small print, etc.);
  • Sensation of warmth and pressure, pain in the eyes, decreasing in warmth and increasing under artificial lighting.

Main cases of clinical application

Traumatology and rheumatology

  • Periosteal injury as a result of trauma;
  • Dislocations, including complicated ones (tendon rupture and/or damage to ligaments and bones);
  • Pain at the dislocation site after reduction;
  • Tendinitis, periostitis, periarthritis, post-traumatic exostosis. Achilles tendon;
  • Pain with synovial cysts of the wrist, fibrosis of ligaments and tendons;
  • Lumbago, sciatica (pain increases at rest and decreases with movement);
  • Sacral injuries, coccygodynia.

Ophthalmology

  • Asthenopia and accommodation disorder;

Dosage Regimen
