Pharmacological Action

Tobacco (Nicotiana Tabacum L) is a large annual cultivated herbaceous plant, reaching 1.5 m in height. The leaves are very large, oval in shape, with red flowers appearing in the leaf axils, collected in panicles.

The mother tincture is prepared from fresh, unfermented leaves collected at the end of flowering.

Its composition includes

  • Coumarins;
  • Chlorogenic acid;
  • Sterols;
  • Amino acids;
  • Alkaloids, the most important of which is nicotine, which determines the activity and toxicity of tobacco by acting on the ganglia of the sympathetic and parasympathetic systems.

Indications

  • Discomfort in the epigastric region.
  • Ice-cold skin.
  • Feeling of tightness in the precordial area.

Use for the management of motion sickness in neurology.

Employ for the treatment of pregnancy vomiting with salivation in gynecology and obstetrics.
