Dosage Regimen

The method of application and dosage regimen for a specific drug depend on its form of release and other factors. The optimal dosage regimen is determined by the doctor. It is necessary to strictly adhere to the compliance of the dosage form of a specific drug with the indications for use and dosage regimen.

The drug is used externally.

Treatment of tonsillitis

When treating tonsillitis, Tomicid is used as a gargle. A single dose of Tomicid for gargling is 10-15 ml. The drug is recommended to be used warmed (from 37 to 42°C (107.6°F))

Contact with the surface of the mucous membrane should be 3-5 minutes. The frequency of gargling is 5-6 times a day. The duration of use is until the symptoms of the disease disappear.

Treatment of pyoderma

Tomicid is used for various forms of pyoderma

  • For superficial strepto-staphylodermia;
  • For deep forms of pyoderma (furuncles, carbuncles, hidradenitis);
  • For secondary forms of pyoderma complicating the course of various dermatoses (eczema, neurodermatitis);
  • For trophic ulcers complicated by secondary purulent infection.

Treatment is carried out by applying a wet dressing soaked in Tomicid to the affected areas 2-3 times a day, until the symptoms of the disease disappear.

Treatment of purulent wounds

Before using Tomicid, it is recommended to completely remove the purulent-necrotic substrate from the wound. Then the wound cavity is loosely tamponaded with Tomicid. Dressings are performed once a day until bleeding, succulent granulations appear in the wound. Subsequent treatment is carried out with Tomicid in combination with oil (vaseline or castor) in equal ratios, until the wound is completely healed.

The amount of Tomicid used per dressing depends on the size and shape of the purulent cavity and averages 5-10 ml.

Tomicid can be used to wash closed purulent cavities (fistulous tracts, chronic osteomyelitis, etc.) located in connective and bone tissue.

Prevention of postoperative wound suppuration

To prevent postoperative wound suppuration, Tomicid should be used in the form of wet dressings applied to the wound surface immediately after surgery once a day for the first 3-5 days. After this period, if there are no signs of inflammation, the use of Tomicid should be discontinued.

Adverse Reactions

When applying Tomicid to the affected area of the skin, a brief burning sensation may occur.

Contraindications

There are no contraindications to the use of Tomicid.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

Pregnancy and the period of breastfeeding are also not contraindications for the use of Tomicid.
