Dietary supplement – source of Vitamin C and arbutin

Properties

Dietary supplement. The effect is due to the properties of its constituent components.

Cranberry berry extract (Vaccinium oxycoccus). The main active component of cranberry is Proanthocyanidins, which prevent the attachment of pathogenic bacteria to the walls of the bladder and urethra, thereby preventing bacterial multiplication in the urinary tract. When cranberry preparations are taken orally, Proanthocyanidins accumulate in the urine in high concentrations. Cranberry fruits contain organic acids (citric, benzoic, malic, quinic, etc.), ascorbic acid, B vitamins, flavonic acids, tannins, triterpenoids (ursolic and oleanolic acids), leucoanthocyanins, phylloquinone (vitamin K), glycosides, trace elements (iron, manganese, copper, potassium, calcium, phosphates).

It has anti-inflammatory, diuretic, antimicrobial, and general strengthening effects. The antimicrobial properties are due to the presence of benzoic and chlorogenic acids, and the anti-inflammatory effect is due to the presence of ursolic acid. It enhances the effect of uroseptic drugs from the antibiotic and sulfonamide groups.

Bearberry leaf extract (Arctostaphylos uva-ursi). The main active substances of bearberry are phenolic glycosides, flavonoids, and tannins. It has an antimicrobial effect due to the presence of arbutin and methylarbutin in the extract, which are broken down in the body to hydroquinone, which has a pronounced antibacterial effect, resulting in the cleansing of the urinary tract from bacterial flora. It has an anti-inflammatory effect because it contains tannins. Flavonoids contained in bearberry increase diuresis with the simultaneous excretion of sodium and chloride ions from the body. Bearberry inhibits the reabsorption of uric acid in the renal tubules and increases its solubility, reducing the formation of stones in the urinary tract. It enhances the effects of uroseptic and anti-inflammatory drugs.

Horsetail extract (Equisetum arvense). Horsetail contains flavonoids, organic acids, magnesium, calcium, chromium, iron, potassium, and a large amount of silicic acid salts. It helps protect the epithelium during inflammation, which is ensured by the removal of toxins from the urinary tract. It has a mild antispasmodic effect. Horsetail flavonoids have an antiseptic effect.

Vitamin C (ascorbic acid). Increases the body’s resistance to infections. Reduces the severity of inflammatory reactions.

Scope of Application

As a dietary supplement, which is an additional source of Vitamin C and silicon, a source of organic acids (benzoic, malic, citric) and arbutin; to reduce the risk of developing urinary tract diseases.
