Dietary supplement for supporting the function of the organ of vision

Properties

Sunlight and, above all, the blue part of the solar spectrum is the most dangerous for the retina of the eye. The destructive effect of sunlight, frequent interaction with a computer, and age can lead to the natural process of degeneration (destruction) of the retina. Free radicals, which are formed during the metabolism of cells, can also cause damage to healthy eye cells, which can provoke deterioration of vision.

At first, imperceptible changes in the retina can be irreversible and with age lead to serious vision problems, such as, for example, age-related macular degeneration.

The composition of the Vislea dietary supplement was developed by ophthalmologists specializing in the study of the retina and is aimed at replenishing the deficiency of lutein, zeaxanthin, troxerutin, antioxidants in the form of vitamins, trace elements, as well as omega-3 essential fatty acids that are beneficial for maintaining eye health.

Vislea is a dietary supplement that contains a complex of necessary carotenoids (Lutein, Zeaxanthin), Troxerutin, vitamins, trace elements and omega-3 essential fatty acids that are beneficial for eye health.

Lutein and Zeaxanthin are two yellow pigments that are present in high concentrations in the central part of the retina and serve as natural protection of the retina from too bright light. According to literary sources, long-term intake of lutein and zeaxanthin increases the density of the macular pigment and helps maintain high visual acuity.

Troxerutin is a flavonoid (a derivative of rutin) isolated from Japanese pagoda tree (Sophora japonica). It has P-vitamin activity, participates in redox processes, and has antioxidant activity. Troxerutin prevents lipid oxidation, protects cells from damage by free radicals, helps stabilize cell membranes, which prevents the destruction of blood vessel cells, and reduces the permeability and fragility of the capillaries of the fundus.

In addition to lutein, zeaxanthin and troxerutin, the Vislea dietary supplement contains vitamins E and C, trace elements Selenium, Zinc, Manganese and Copper, which complement each other, being natural antioxidants, help reduce the impact of harmful factors and preserve vision, and additionally contribute to strengthening blood vessels.

Vitamin E has antioxidant properties that help protect cell membranes. It prevents increased fragility and permeability of capillaries.

Vitamin C is involved in the neutralization of free radicals and regulates the restoration of visual pigments.

According to the literature, the inclusion of vitamins C and E in the daily diet reduces the risk of developing glaucoma.

B vitamins (B1, B2, Niacin, B6, Folic acid and B12) are necessary for the normal metabolic processes in the tissues and cells of the eye.

Selenium is a strong antioxidant that protects cells from the toxic effects of peroxide radicals.

Zinc acts as an antioxidant, helps slow down age-related changes in the retina. Zinc deficiency can lead to reduced color perception.

Manganese is part of an enzyme called superoxide dismutase – one of the main enzymes of the antioxidant system.

Copper plays an important role in the removal of free radicals.

Vislea also contains omega-3 Polyunsaturated fatty acids (in particular, docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA)) – essential substances that cannot be synthesized in the human body and must be supplied with food or dietary supplements in case of an unbalanced diet. Omega-3 acids are structural components of cell membranes: the retina is especially rich in omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (mainly DHA). Some studies show that omega-3 fatty acids may help protect the eyes of an adult from the development of age-related degenerative changes in the retina (Age-Related Macular Degeneration, Guideline by American Academy of Ophthalmology®, 2014 p.33 Diet).
