Dosage Regimen

The method of application and dosage regimen for a specific drug depend on its form of release and other factors. The optimal dosage regimen is determined by the doctor. It is necessary to strictly adhere to the compliance of the dosage form of a specific drug with the indications for use and dosage regimen.

The recommended adult dosage is one capsule per day, taken with a meal and a full glass of water.

For optimal absorption, it is advised to take the capsule with a meal that contains a small amount of healthy fat, as the curcumin in turmeric is fat-soluble. The inclusion of Bioperine® (black pepper extract) is designed to enhance the bioavailability of the curcuminoids.

Do not exceed the recommended daily intake. The duration of use should be discussed with a healthcare provider. This product is intended for use by adults only and is not recommended for children.

Adverse Reactions

Vivacia Turmeric with Bioperine is generally well-tolerated when taken at the recommended dosage. However, some individuals may experience adverse reactions.

The most commonly reported side effects are gastrointestinal in nature and may include mild symptoms such as nausea, diarrhea, stomach upset, or dyspepsia. These effects are often dose-dependent and may be mitigated by taking the supplement with food.

In rare cases, allergic reactions may occur, manifesting as skin rash, itching, or hives. Discontinue use immediately and seek medical attention if you experience signs of a severe allergic reaction, such as difficulty breathing or swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Due to its potential effects on bile secretion, high doses may cause issues in susceptible individuals. If you experience any persistent or severe adverse effects, stop taking the supplement and consult your healthcare provider.

Drug Interactions

Vivacia Turmeric with Bioperine may interact with several classes of medications. It is crucial to inform your healthcare provider about all the supplements and medications you are taking.

Anticoagulants and Antiplatelets (e.g., Warfarin, Clopidogrel, Aspirin): Turmeric may possess blood-thinning properties and could potentiate the effects of these drugs, increasing the risk of bleeding and bruising. Concurrent use requires close medical supervision.

Diabetes Medications: Turmeric may lower blood sugar levels. When taken with antidiabetic drugs (e.g., Metformin, Insulin, Glipizide), it may increase the risk of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). Blood glucose levels should be monitored carefully.

Drugs that reduce stomach acid (e.g., Omeprazole, Famotidine, Cimetidine): Turmeric may increase stomach acid production, potentially interfering with the action of these drugs.

Bioperine® (Black Pepper Extract) may inhibit certain drug-metabolizing enzymes in the liver (such as CYP3A4 and CYP2C9) and P-glycoprotein, a transport protein. This inhibition can lead to increased blood levels and enhanced effects or side effects of numerous prescription medications, including certain calcium channel blockers, immunosuppressants, and statins. A comprehensive medication review with a pharmacist or physician is essential before starting this supplement.

Overdose

While acute overdose is unlikely to be life-threatening, exceeding the recommended dosage significantly increases the risk of adverse effects.

Symptoms of overdose may include severe gastrointestinal upset (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain), headache, dizziness, and skin rash. In cases of extreme overconsumption, there is a potential for liver toxicity or kidney stones in predisposed individuals due to the oxalate content in turmeric.

If an overdose is suspected, discontinue use immediately and seek medical advice or contact a Poison Control Center. Provide the medical professional with the product packaging and information about the amount ingested. Treatment is typically supportive and directed at managing the presenting symptoms. There is no specific antidote.
