Properties
Biologically active food supplement.
Zinc is an essential trace element. It is involved in such vital processes as stimulation of cell division and growth, metabolism and protein synthesis, accelerates wound healing, is necessary for bone formation along with calcium, is responsible for the sense of smell and taste perception, and also has a significant effect on the production of male and female sex hormones, thereby affecting reproductive function and sexual activity.
Zinc is also called the “beauty” trace element: it is actively involved in the process of skin regeneration and renewal; regulates the function of sebaceous glands, stimulates the synthesis of collagen and keratin, affecting hair and nail growth.
Zinc deficiency in the diet can lead to hair loss, dandruff; brittle and splitting nails; dry and flaky skin, slow wound healing; loss of appetite; increased fatigue, nervousness; impaired taste and smell perception.
Additional zinc intake may be recommended in cases of impaired zinc absorption, for example, in intestinal diseases; increased zinc excretion due to smoking or alcohol abuse; adherence to a strict diet or enthusiasm for vegetarianism; during intensive sports activities.
