Pharmacological Action

A combined herbal preparation. It has a laxative, astringent, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, and hemostatic effect.

Indications

  • Regulation of stool in patients with hemorrhoids.
  • Management of atonic constipation.

Dosage Regimen

Contraindications

  • Gastric and duodenal ulcer in the acute phase.
  • Acute abdomen syndrome.
  • Intestinal obstruction.
  • Incarcerated hernia.
  • Pregnancy.
  • Lactation period (breastfeeding).
  • Children under 12 years of age.
  • Hypersensitivity to the plants.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

This combination is contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding).

Pediatric Use

Contraindicated for use in children under 12 years of age.

Geriatric Use

The drug is approved for use in elderly patients.

Special Precautions

The prepared decoction can be stored in a cool place for no more than 48 hours.

Drug Interactions

Preparations containing senna reduce the absorption of tetracycline.

Concurrent use with antiarrhythmic drugs, diuretics, adrenocorticosteroids, or licorice root preparations may exacerbate electrolyte imbalance, particularly hypokalemia.

Overdose

Symptoms of overdose include abdominal pain, spasm, diarrhea, and fluid and electrolyte loss.

Treatment is symptomatic and supportive; monitor and correct electrolyte and fluid balance.

Storage Conditions

Store at 2°C (36°F) to 25°C (77°F). Keep in original packaging, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
