Dosage Regimen

The method of application and dosage regimen for a specific drug depend on its form of release and other factors. The optimal dosage regimen is determined by the doctor. It is necessary to strictly adhere to the compliance of the dosage form of a specific drug with the indications for use and dosage regimen.

Cleanse and dry affected skin areas thoroughly before each application.

Apply a thin layer of cream and gently massage into the skin twice daily, in the morning and evening.

Use the 20% cream for all indicated conditions, including acne vulgaris, rosacea, and hyperpigmentation.

The duration of therapy is set individually; clinical improvement in acne is typically observed after 4 weeks.

For rosacea, continue application for the full prescribed course to achieve optimal therapeutic effect.

If excessive skin irritation occurs, reduce application frequency to once daily until tolerance develops.

Resume twice-daily application as tolerated. Discontinue use if severe irritation persists.

Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, and other mucous membranes. Wash hands immediately after application.

Adverse Reactions

Local reactions rarely (mainly at the beginning of therapy) – skin irritation, erythema, burning sensation, itching, peeling (disappear on their own during further treatment).

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to azelaic acid; children under 12 years of age for acne, children under 18 years of age – for rosacea.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

Use during pregnancy is possible if indicated.

Given the low systemic bioavailability and low toxicity of azelaic acid, use during lactation (breastfeeding) is possible.

In experimental studies on laboratory animals, no negative effect of azelaic acid on reproductive function was revealed, and no embryotoxic or teratogenic effects were established.

Pediatric Use

Contraindicated for use in children under 12 years of age for acne, in children under 18 years of age – for rosacea.

Special Precautions

Avoid contact with mucous membranes and eyes.
