An infusion of birch leaves has a diuretic effect.

Dosage Regimen

The method of application and dosage regimen for a specific drug depend on its form of release and other factors. The optimal dosage regimen is determined by the doctor. It is necessary to strictly adhere to the compliance of the dosage form of a specific drug with the indications for use and dosage regimen.

Herbal raw material

Approximately 3.5 g (1 tablespoon) of birch leaves are placed in an enamel bowl, poured with 200 ml (1 glass) of hot boiled water, covered with a lid, and heated in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes, then cooled for 45 minutes at room temperature and strained. The remaining raw material is pressed out. The volume of the resulting infusion is adjusted to 200 ml with boiled water.

Take orally 1/3 to 1/4 glass 3-4 times a day 30 minutes before meals.

The treatment course is 20-40 days. Repeated courses of treatment are conducted with one- to two-week breaks.

The infusion must be shaken before use.

Adverse Reactions

Allergic reactions are possible.

Contraindications

  • Chronic renal failure, acute glomerulonephritis;
  • Hypersensitivity to the drug.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding is possible if the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus and child. It is necessary to consult a doctor.

Use in Renal Impairment

Contraindicated in chronic renal failure and acute glomerulonephritis.

Overdose

To date, no cases of overdose have been reported.

Storage Conditions

In a dry place, protected from light. The prepared aqueous extract should be stored in a cool, dark place for no more than 2 days. Keep out of reach of children.

Shelf Life

The shelf life is 3 years.
