Pharmacological Action

A herbal product that contains tannins, gallic acid, catechin, oxymethylanthraquinone, starch, calcium oxalate, and ascorbic acid.

It has an astringent, anti-inflammatory, hemostatic, wound-healing, antidiarrheal, and sedative effect.

Indications

Gastric and duodenal ulcer, diarrhea, colitis, enteritis, cholecystitis, stomatitis, gingivitis, bleeding from the gastrointestinal tract organs; metrorrhagia, colpitis; cystitis; wounds, trophic ulcers, furuncle.

Dosage Regimen

Prepare an infusion for oral administration by placing 2 g (approximately 1 tablespoon) of the comminuted herbal raw material into an enamel or glass vessel.

Add 200 ml (one glass) of boiling water and close the lid.

Heat in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes, then cool at room temperature for 45 minutes.

Strain the resulting infusion, and squeeze out the remaining raw material.

Bring the volume of the finished infusion to 200 ml with boiled water.

For internal use, take 100 ml of the infusion 2-3 times a day, 20-30 minutes before meals.

For gastrointestinal bleeding, administer 30 ml of the infusion every 2 hours until the bleeding subsides.

For external use, prepare a more concentrated decoction for lotions, rinses, and irrigations.

Place 15 g of the raw material into 500 ml of water and boil over low heat for 30 minutes.

Strain the decoction after cooling and use it for treating wounds, trophic ulcers, and inflammatory conditions of the oral mucosa and vagina.

Apply the decoction externally as lotions or use for rinsing several times a day.

Use the prepared infusions and decoctions on the day of preparation; do not store for more than 48 hours in a cool place.
