Pharmacological Action

Cina (Artemisia cina) is an aromatic plant native to the steppes of Turkestan.

The mother tincture is prepared from dried unopened flower heads.

Artemisia cina contains the following main active substances

• α-santonin – a sesquiterpene lactone containing an 8-hydroxy derivative – artemisin; α-santonin has anthelmintic activity, mainly against nematodes (especially roundworms); it causes some digestive disorders and xanthopsia;

• A small amount of essential oil, containing mainly cineole, which has antifungal activity.

Indications

Key symptoms for prescribing the drug

• Itchy nose – the patient constantly rubs or scratches the nose, sometimes to the point of tearing the skin of the nostrils;

• Anal itching, especially at night;

• Abdominal, periumbilical, “pinching”, “aching” pain, worsening at night, improving when lying on the stomach.;

• Headache with increased sensitivity of the scalp.

Main cases of clinical application

Recurrent pathologies associated with parasitosis

• Periodic abdominal pain with possible anorexia;

• Periodic or nocturnal cough.

Behavioral problems

The following symptoms may be associated with parasitosis.

• Facial tics;

• Enuresis;

• Insomnia, night terrors, sleepwalking, bruxism.

Dosage Regimen

Sublingually.

The granules should be dissolved in the mouth 30 minutes before a meal or 60 minutes after a meal.

For children from 0 to 3 years old, the granules are first dissolved by shaking in 10-15 ml of water at room temperature and given to drink.

The optimal amount per dose is 5 granules.
